Should you have to provide a government ID, for age verification purposes, to access internet pornography

Really? I'm going to renew my library card....
Because they are no longer actively published, many libraries have pulled them from their shelves, so you have to request at the desk. But that's the same for any out-of-publishing periodical.

and they don't require any age verification beyond an active library card.
you can also rent movies/get a streaming service at some libraries, depending on what they actually stock/in the catalog you can get R-rated movies. same process, library card only thing needed.

Set the precedent for "Now who really is against children not seeing porn?" by government watchdog action and wait and see who else is next. Safe money is on anything to do with guns. Bad parenting is a terrible excuse for expanding .gov power.
Yep. If the camel's nose gets under the tent, the rest of the stinky camel will follow.

I’ve still not fully accepted how much damage covid did to our society
And while porn is devastating, so are stolen elections. You need ID to see certain websites, but need no ID to vote? Insane.

There are two battles going on. The first is the ability to protect our children from predators, in this case it’s porn which most people agree should not be “freely available with no restrictions” to minors, but would include “radicalization” - this could be exposure to Christianity or to transsexualism
The other is totally free enterprise on the internet. Pornhub could easily implement the verification process, they don’t want to because they know there would be some who decide not to visit because there might be someone who now tracks their proclivities….as if Pronhub’s not doing this now.

When I was 11, a friend in my literal, wonder years neighborhood, brought a projector over to my house with a porn film on a freaking reel. My parents were playing golf. What I witnessed that day has led to me never watching any porn in the last 49 years🤣.

Lots of bush?

Next will be another thing that they say is “for the children” IMO, it’s the rationale du jour
