so you think we get higher than a 14 seed and you think i'm a fool? to get that high a seed with our record we would have to beat UK in the SECCG. Just because I am not blinded by the euphoria of the run we have been on you go to the closet other SEC team route? Check my post history I have been on board with CCM and this team from day 1. That being said I have always had a balanced view on it all.

This is what happens when you have band-wagoners. They only jump on if they think it goes all the way to the point of silliness. All the guys that were hating on CCM early are the main ones pumping sunshine right now. You guys are all rahrahrah with no substance or thought just pure emotion. Great for cheerleaders not so good for supporters.

You all say it is better for them to go to the dance even if they get blown out in the first round. Those are your exact words. Explain to me either of you how that is good for this team going forward?.....go ahead....oops you can't all that is good for is to make all the armchair cowboys feel good around the water cooler for a week or so. You get to rub it in the faces of fans of teams that didn't make it.

The NIT does not have that same ring because the casual fans don't even know what the heck it is. Thing is it is a good thing like it or not and the sad fact is it is our most likely destination.

they dont put major conference teams below 13...

please try and keep up. tennessee is projected a 13 in the brackets that have them in. they cant be a 14 my friend, they will be at worst a 13.

sorry to burst your bubble.

The fact that you think UT would be a 14 seed at best, negates everything else you say. It proves you know little to nothing about college basketball and are basically just over here yanking people's chains. Thanks for trying. Go away now please.

At no point did any sane person think we were going to beat UCONN it was an upset by any definition at that point in the season. That my friend constitutes a bad loss.

If they played us today, and we won, no one would call it a bad loss. The team they played back then is not the team we have now. That win was the first glimmer of what we have now.

Now I shall proceed to step out on a whisper thin limb and say this. I hope we don't make the cut. I hope we get 2 wins in the SEC tourney and get snubbed and instead go to the NIT.

I hope this for 2 reasons. The NIT offers more chances for games to a young team. In the AA's we are most likely 1 and done the NIT we have a legit shot at moving far. Secondly getting snubbed will piss off the players and put a terrible taste in their mouths.

For the same reasons I think the UK loss in FB was a blessing in disguise (there I go out on those limbs again) I think knocking on the door but not getting into the dance will make us a much better team next season.

Where do you people come from? No fan with any sense would ever hope to be snubbed by the NCAAT and go to the NIT.

To an irrational person that makes perfect sense and by definition most fans are exactly that. I find it interesting though not at all surprising everyone looks at my stance like I have 3 heads yet not a single one of you can say it is wrong you just don't like it. You would rather take what will be an almost guaranteed loss in the first round than get an almost guaranteed extended run (aka more practices and experience) in the NIT. All of this so you can tell your pals we made the dance...that is moronic.

That is like saying you'd rather be caught in a big jewelry heist than get away robbing a liquor store. You made the front page in jail being bubbas b--ch. I am at home with my 243 dollars and a case of MD20/20. My life sucks but I live to rob another day you are just sucking...literally.

On a serious note. I am not a coach and neither am I the type of person who wears blinders. Because of that I can take the long view. Everyone wants immediate turnarounds because they fear rebuilding because when you are rebuilding you are that guy everyone chuckles at around the water cooler. People never really think about the fact that fast turnarounds are usually the products of flukey luck or cheating so rarely last. i refer we build an actual program which is what CDD and CCM are both doing.

Remember this all and also remember who hired both of them and everyone that hated on them both when they were hired. You can disagree with me but what I am saying is not in any way crazy. If you have a fighter that has potential but lacks polish you don't throw him in title matches day 1 you work him u the ranks till he is ready else you risk ruining him.

This is not a choice in BB your record determines your destiny but we are in one of those weird crossroads where it could go either way...you guys want to send us to a beatdown because it makes you feel better we showed up. I want us to get more polish and come back to the big dance next season when we are ready.. which of those sounds stupid?

I can most definitely say you are completely wrong.

I agree with this. I think they're looking at when the loss was. We were terrible and they were still a top 25 team. We were just about to start our winning run. At the time it was a bad loss, however, now it wouldn't look that way.

this, but it also doesn't help ut that all of the teams they beat that would be considered "signature wins" fell off significantly. (uf, vandy, uconn) it would have been nice for uconn and vandy to have at least retained a ranking in the latter portion of the schedule. I want to see the vols in, it's just hard to predict the committee sometimes.

We also lost to college of Charleston to go along with the other teams I mentioned. So we were a BAD TEAM then, that's what my point is. When we beat UCONN we were Bad. That's why it might\should be considered a bad loss for them.

That's not how bad losses are determined. It's what the current RPI is.

Besides UConn WAS ONLY FAVORED BY 2.5!

If you remember I said I leaned towards saying it was not a bad loss. In fact my first thought was how are we a bad loss, but to be fair we were a bad team then. Yes you are right though, the committee would not look at us as a bad loss because of that. I just could see how it could be considered that depending on how you look at it. just my :twocents: All that matters is Tennessee has turned it around and now has a chance to make the tournament. GBO!
