Doesn't matter how good of a class comes in. UT DOES NOT have a QB.

At the very least you need a "game manager" type who doesn't make mistakes but that will only work if EVERYTHING ELSE is solid. Solid o-line, running game and defense and special teams. Otherwise, we need something that we don't have.

Dobbs??? You're kidding right? I'm being very kind when I say he STINKS.

Worley? Please. Peterman? OMG.

I don't know where this QB is gonna come from but he better come from somewhere.

His first class was what, #9? I think his next class was top 15. So it's not like a huge difference.

His first class which should be the seniors this year was his best but most of them left school whether it be for the NFL or other reasons. Go back and look at that class and see how many are still here. MO is a great example of a senior laden team and we just do not have that.

UT Football is depleted in almost every way imaginable, but there is no where to go but up, we are at rock bottom.

sick of all my great UT football memories being from when i was in elementary and middle school!

when will the suffering end? It's the same every year, and i understand the circumstances but really getting tired of it. Dooley was the worst thing to ever happen to our program... he was awful! he did nothing!

I agree. The future certainly looks dim at this stage. I was excited for the big recruiting class, but if your coach can't get your current players to improve and over-achieve then I don't have great hopes for just trying to out-talent people in the future. I would have thought we would have learned that you need both great talent and great coaching to win in this league.

Yeah, it's a sad day when Vanderbilt's back-up is playing better than anyone we've signed.

Hey man, don't jump off the ledge yet. Things will get better. It's a win/win for Tennessee.

Butch Jones is a great recruiter. Even if he fails as a coach we will still have great talent for the next coach.

This is THE EXACT THING people said, week after week when Dooley was here. I mean verbatim lol.

In all fairness Butch's class is walking the walk. Dooley never had a class this good. His best class was the one inherited from Kiffin and Butch's worst class will be the one left by Dooley.

So Vandys back up would have played better against Oregon, Alabama and Auburn? You're one of the ost negative and ignorant posters on this site. Are you seriously a Vol fan? Honestly, do you consider yourself a true fan of Tennessee?

What makes you think this?

UT is #2 in recruiting right now because of the number of commitments UT has at this moments. The other teams haven't filled out their classes, yet.

When the dust settles 3 months from now, UT won't be #1 or #2. It's still a very solid class but may be 5-6 in the SEC. It's just that difficult these days.

im sick of hearing about f***in auburn they didn't have the worst coach in the world recruiting and coaching the players...dooley should never be allowed on a football sideline couldn't make it as a lawyer and sucks as a coach...auburn coach got talent handed to him...butch jone's talent was low to start with and his playmakers went to the nfl!! so get over it already blame dooley judge butch next year when "HE HAS PLAYERS HE RECRUITED AND COACHED UP"!

I think the difference is the ability to judge the talent. Some 4 star and even 5 star high school talent doesn't translate to the next level. I believe in dooleys case we got some of those that were picked over by better talent judges so that it looked good on paper but in the crucible of SEC football it has not held up.

Hence Demetice Morley, Darren Myles, Jr, Adam Myers-White, Ben Martin, LaDarrell McNeil, Justin Coleman, Janzen Jackson, Jacquez Smith, Corey Miller, Byron Moore....I can keep going lol

you dont really deserve a spot on this blog just being honest. you can overcome bad coaching from one season to the next but that wasnt the problem, what you cant overcome is players that arent gifted with speed instinct and true SEC size, due to losing recruits over multiple coaching changes and players leaving before their senior year because they saw nothing at UT to stay for. If you have been looking at our recruiting that is going on. You can see that our coach is doing a dang good job, and when you start winning players that saban wants and you have the number two class in the country for next year, wait around for 2-3 years and let these top recuits settle in to the program, then when their good, I hope you are a georgia fan just not UT. People like this are th ones who leave at half time b/c were losing by a touchdown or two:clapping:
