I am really sick of watching JP Prince act like he is Mr. Big Balla.

Even after tonight when he scored a ton of points... he cost his team with the 2nd technical and could have cost them with the 1st technical.

Act like you've been there.

Even when he is having an off night he acts like he is the biggest badass.

I am sick of his attitude. I understand having a passion and playing with emotion... I just feel like he is so far beyond just playing with emotion. Compare him to Chism for a good example of how to act on court.

Sure. And then compare their numbers. TBA would have been empty way before the minute mark. JP carried this team tonight.

So you have to act like an idiot on the floor to score a lot of points?

Why not be a leader AND score a lot of points? Do it with class? Why shouldn't we expect more poise from a 5th year Senior?

Edit: And look at their numbers for the season. JP averages 6.8, Chism 11.8. So he had a good night. Great for him, we needed it. But don't act like an idiot.

The second T I think was a bad call he does that all the time and they never call it.Also if you don't believe in yourself in basketball you will be eaten alive. So his attitude, is to me a showing of confidence.

How did he act like an idiot? Because his hand smacked the Vandy kid? Really? Sure. Why don't we just skip the rest of our games and play in a church league with free dinner afterwards?? Some of you people are amazing. If your concerns is the way Prince played tonight than the hell with the rest of the season. I'm more concerned with Pearl playing McBrick and JR and Tatum riding the pine.

+1 J.P played a good game end of story. Its not like he was yelling at Vandy's bench or something when we were down by 14.

Let's see... running around with his fingers in the air with 3 on one hand and 0 on the other... hanging onto the rim (bad call or not, you just came out of a heated moment and the refs are going to want to control the game... don't give them the opportunity), smacking the Vandy player in the face...

And it wasn't just tonight. He acts like this even when things aren't going well.

Your church league comment is bush league. Do you want our players to act like they sat in on some of Kiffin's "how to be a class act" classes?

I'm all for points from the kid. But why are scoring well and acting classy mutually exclusive in people's eyes?

I really don't understand the hate that UT fans have for JP. He's always been one of our top players and he's extremely valuable to this team.

It's called swagger / confidence / whatever you want to call it. You see an attitude problem. I see a reason for you to continue hating on JP Prince when he had a career high when his coach got beat again for bad decisions and horrible subsitutions.

J.P. is capable of magnificent things, and does them on a semi-regular basis. He is the emotional spark this team needs. He is, however, magnificently flawed as well. I love his dunks, and hate his screaming and showboating after a dunk. I love his defense, and hate the stupid fouls (he's good for at least a couple a game).

He would be my favorite player if he would not showboat so much, I can deal with the stupid mistakes, it is the showboating that really gets on my last nerve.

I play college bball at a lower level school. I guarantee you worse things happen than what JP did tonight. I've been hit in the balls, kidney punched, everything. he played a great game tonight and no one else did yet people continue to bash him. Stop hatin on him. If we didnt have him tonight we lose by 30-40 easily.

I'm not a JP fan but he played one of his best games as a volunteer tonight. We'd get blown away without him

So no comment? Would you rather our players be thugs and we have more incidents like the ones our football and basketball programs have enjoyed recently?

6th in points this year
3rd in points last year
5th in points the year before that

7th in rebounds this year
3rd in rebounds last year
6th (tied) in rebounds the year before that

2nd (tied) in assists this year
3rd in assists last year
5th (tied) in assists the year before that

Again I am not saying he isn't valuable. I'm not saying he didn't play well tonight. But the showboating is unnecessary and shows a lack of class.

You call it swagger. Swagger seemed to work so well for Kiffin, Nu'Keese, Janzen, Mike Edwards, Brian Williams, Tyler Smith, Goins, and Tatum...

Edit:

9th in FT% this year
5th in FT% last year
7th in FT% the year before that

Im a HUGE Tennessee fan and will pull for all Tennessee players but, he is my least favorite basketball player of all time. Always griping about calls and smirkng at the other teams players. He is talented but, have some class and dont be such a jerk!

who would you play instead of him Mr. Hater? Stephen Pearl? please. Kenny Hall and Woolridge can't play the entire game. Tatum is a 2 and Goins is a 1 so we cant put them in for him. He is very valuable to this team whether you think so or not. He plays defense (since you wanna throw stats out he is 1st on the team in steals) and is a team leader. Whether you think he is a good leader or not does not matter because the team looks to him as the emotional leader of the team.

Regardless of anything JP did, UT as a TEAM were sloppy & played very poorly in the 2nd half. What did they give up, 50-some odd points in the 2nd half after only 31 in the 1st? Garbage performance, & I don't care what Vandy's ranked, it's unacceptable to lose to them at home unless they're in the top 5-10 in the country. Unacceptable to lose to anyone outside of the top 10 in the country at home. They've got to step it up big time.

Refs didn't help. Too many stupid fouls--> bad D--> easy/open buckets for those wankers. But, that doesn't excuse a crap loss.

Wooo! He gets 1.5 whole steals and Chism gets 1.4. A whole .1 steals more. Amazing considering he can't shoot a free throw (2nd in attempts on the team but shooting 58.5%) and is 6th (technically 5th with Smith gone) in points. Which is more important? 1.5 steals or 6.8 points?

How can I be more clear? Are you reading my actual posts? He can play. I would play him. I would just adjust his behavior so he didn't play like a fool. I would tell him to mimic Chism.

So you post all these negative stats about him and then say you would play him?
