Silent Commits

"and im getting a feeling Reuben Randle is a silent"
I'd hate to see such a stellar staff take a step backwards like that.
And I'm hearing that Urban Myers is waiting till NSD to announce that he'll be our new special teams coach.<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

Ok, so there are rumors flying around all the time about silent commits. With the wavering of Thigpen, Oku, Stokes....... this fuels these rumors. I have heard that recruits such as Graves, Myles, King, M. Brown, Teague, Jeffry (sp?)......... and several more could be silents.

I was just wondering what everyone thought about all of these rumors. Do you think they are legit? If so, which ones? What evidence has been presented to back these claims?

Sporttalk in Chattanooga was stating yesterday that they had an inside source that most of these guys were solid "silent" commits to the Vols.

I don't know if we have all these silent commits. It would be astonishing if we did. Our coaches have been able to generate a ton of news coverage about our recruiting in the last month. We would be all over ESPN if we did land these guys. There are others like reuben randle that i find highly unlikely given that they have not had an official visit. But if we sign half of all these supposed silent commits, that is some serious "Art of War" s***. It would generate more positive news coverage, which was lacking with the last coaching staff. And last but not least, I would hope that if it did happen like that, we would have a shot at Bryce Brown, as unrealistic as it is. And I am aware of the rumors that he is waiting to see where the top o-line recruits go, but a guy can dream about landing the number 1 recruit in the country.

I completely agree. :good!:

Just a side note: Those are not rumors about Bryce Brown waiting for the linemen, he said that himself.

A surprise? I would have to say if anyone would commit that we wouldn't expect, maybe Terrance Coleman. I know he's been committed to Auburn for awhile, but it seems he's been looking for a new place to land. JMO of course.

I'd say Richardson would be a complete shocker, but he did bring both his parents which may or may not indicate he's at least taking the visit seriously.
