There's not enough room for two trolls in this thread, let alone a 7-foot troll wearing Carolina blue.

You're absolutely right.

Meyer did absolutely nothing to assist Alex Smith in being selected #1 in the 2005 NFL Draft.

(Hey 2011 recruits, are you getting all this? Meyer is horrible. You really need to consider any other school BUT Florida.)

Well actually, Leinart deciding to stay for his senior year was the biggest force doing the most in that one :)

really other than manning, none of these schools can claim too much about NFL qbs

but really, noone can other than some MAC schools and USC

And? I never said Brees would somehow finish his career as a more legendary player than Peyton.

I'm of the opinion that if you ask a kid today, RIGHT NOW, the answer would be Drew Brees.

sigh, dont be one of the people who's ideas of who the best QB of all time are influenced by who the media's currently showing after the superbowl....they do this every year

At least Ainge isn't like Chris Leak and playing in the CFL.

Yep, what a failure that Chris Leak guy is.

It figures though, he played for Urban Meyer.

Clearly a coach with credentials for grooming NFL QBs would have made Chris Leak grow about 3 inches and injected him 3 times a day with HGH so Leak would have the necessary arm strength to thrive in the NFL.

Chad Henne starts for the Dolphins in addition to Brady at NE.

ok that's a recent development then; i knew he played this season but wasnt Pennington ok to come back

(fine, then that would mean up till this last season actually, it was the exact same boat)

if only he'd have played in a pro style offense like UT runs he couldve carried the clipboard in the NFL..which brings up the question why UT hasn't had many more successful QB's than UF..something for the recruits to ponder as well...hmm

Why USC?
Posted via VolNation Mobile

ahem, USC's current roster of QBs in the NFL:

  • Carson Palmer; drafted top pick overall; starting QB for Cincinnati Bengals
  • Matt Leinart; drafted 10th overall; incumbent (sp?) for starting QB for the Arizona Cardinals (and will start next season w/ Warner retiring)
  • Mark Sanchez; selected 5th overall; became starting QB for the New York Jets his rookie season (most hype I ever saw for a guy from just a good bowl game)
  • Matt Cassel was drafted in the 7th round and didn't even play in college and now he's starting on the Kansas City Chiefs
  • Even John David Booty got picked in the 5th round
They're literally the school that can say "hey, even our backups start in the NFL"

as of current, they'd have to be the top dogs of QBs to the NFL: in starting, getting drafted, and even just ending up on a team b/c of the college you went to it seems

Tennessee hasn't had any Hypesman Trophy winners to send to the NFL, just a runnerup who has been pretty damn successful... And that brings up the question why hasn't Florida had any successful QB's in the league with their credentials.

did you read the thread? We're talking about how Meyer can't prepare a qb for the nfl. Collegiate NC's have nothing to do with it.

Yeah Big Boi, did you read the thread?

This is about how Urban Meyer can't produce a top flight NFL QB.

Please disregard the two SEC and national championships, consecutive 13-win seasons and all that other nonsense.

I think it's more about him not being able to produce even a bottom flight NFL QB thus far in his career.

Sigh... I give up. You obviously can't understand that collegiate championships have nothing to do with preparing a QB for the NFL. See ya.

I'm on your side dude.

QB recruits whose only criteria in choosing a college is to find the quickest path to the NFL should never consider Florida.

We are in complete agreement on that.

theres always gonna be good QB's that dont care about the stuff your talking about and they just wanna win championships and heismans

this is nothing new the pro style QB's have been going to pro style offenses for awhile now and there will always be great dual threat QB's that will love to play in meyers offense

lets talk about stafford #1 overall he'll prolly be good too and be pride and joy of geogia fans for awhile kinda like peyton for vols fans but i dont see no national championships in their future

me personally id rather have the championships and QB's that bust in the league

Hey, all these QB recruits should go to Tennessee. After all, their current coach has a LOT of QBs drafted in the NFL, right? Plus, their current coach has trophy laden resume, right?

LOL shhh... they don't like looking in the mirror around here.

this would be like gator fans getting upset that every top running back recruit isnt lining up to go to UF just because e. smith went there. the only thing is gator fans have more sense than that.
