typical Zo. his teams show flashes and then disappear. he has to be more consistent to be successful.
Win two games against subpar teams in a weak conference and some of these fans want to give Zo a raise? Get real, Zo is a subpar coach with a talented team "on the bubble"! WE SHOULD NOT BE IN THIS POSITION, PERIOD! I am sick and tired of the mediocrity of this coach! We won't, but if we get in the tournament and win a few games, that just proves to me he should have been playing at a high level ALL YEAR and didn't. For all you Zo lovers who say he can't do anything right in my eyes, you are CORRECT! Zo gotta go!
I've been tricked too many times to think he has turned the corner. I'm loving the way we are playing, and am cautiously optimistic, but I'm tempering expectations. Beat Missouri, make the SECT championship game, and win a game in the NCAAT and I will feel much better about him.
It's games like the last 2, and Virginia, @LSU, @Bama, 2nd game against Xavier that make me think he can get things done and has some ability as a coach. It's the bad losses that make me question all that, less bad losses and we would be headed to our 9th straight NCAAT.
If he makes the tourney then he earns another year. The frustration with many here is the fact that they are afraid of that. Pearl is the NEW Gruden.
I'm for Pearl but I also know it's not happening.
I will still support Zo if he earns his ticket. Everybody can use more chances.
The dude might average 20 wins a season as a head coach at UT. That shows me he can get it done, but the things that pisses me off and makes me wanna fire him is why is he so damn inconsistent as a coach?
But wait...CBP underachieved in his last year by losing in the first round of the tourney. It doesn't matter that he made it 6 years in a row. Also, we're on an awesome 3 game winning streak and are going to "waltz right into the tourney."We've seen enough from Martin in 3 seasons to know that he does not inspire players and teams to achieve to their full potential or better. In the future, we'll just get more of the same mediocrity or worse. That is why despite Zo being a great person, he must be replaced. Underachieving should not be acceptable. We need a coach who can lead and inspire players to meet or exceed their potential. Those are hard to find, but Pearl is definitely one of them. We should do whatever is necessary to get him back. If that means canning Booger ButtCheek, then do it.
That's the point. We've seen enough "to know what we've got"...a mid-major coach posing as an SEC coach.Yup.
The thing with Zo is that he's in his 6th year as a HC, how many coaches are in a major conference that inexperienced and aren't inconsistent?
He's learning, is this the place for that? No. However, if he continues to improve and gets this team to the dance and shows that he's improving as a coach, you gotta see what you've got.
Illogical argument BTO. How the f*** you see any improvement between year 2 and 3 is beyond me.Oh ok, let's say he makes the dance.
Improve from year 1 to year 2, and improve from year 2 to year 3.
Yup, really looks like you you know what ya got.
Illogical argument BTO. How the f*** you see any improvement between year 2 and 3 is beyond me.
They were a bubble team last year and didn't make it.
They're a bubble team this year (with a talented and veteran team) and may or may not make it.
They've played inconsistent ball all year and are paying for it now.
Keep spinning it however you want, but you can't make chicken salad out of chicken sh!t.
