I recommend the Terry Allen and the Panhandle Mystery Band album - Smokin' the Dummy/Bloodlines.

First heard of Terry Allen because Robert Earl Keen covered Amarillo Highway, which I thought was a great version, until I heard Allen do it. Much prefer the original now:
