Got an RFP from MLGW. The first 39 pages of the RFP was all of the diversity set asides, qualifiers and requirements. Then the next 11 pages covered ethics, it was page 50 before they even got to what they wanted a proposal for and that was 1 page.

Who cares if Velma is gay. That’s the least of the problems with the show. I think the bigger problem are all of the constant, non-stop, trite stereotypes perpetuated throughout the show. And of course, the only race and gender that gets made fun of and hated on is the white male.

Bad kind of like that Bros movie that bombed so hard.

Between being what seemed like a forced and horrible "story" littered with gay stereotypes and literally making fun of straight people in the trailer I'm not shocked. It's almost as if people don't like being reduced to a meme of themselves.

Then everyone's assumptions is where it should've stayed. It's children's entertainment. The nature of ANY character's sexual proclivities is irrelevant! They ALL could've been gay...or not. Who cares? The point is the original creators didn't focus on that. These were a bunch of friends who got together and solved crimes. I don't understand the hyperfocus on this now in EVERYTHING. Can nothing be sexually bereft anymore? Not even children's entertainment?

Was her sexuality the focus of this show or simply acknowledged? The marital relationship was a focus of the Flintstones and there was no issue. What’s the difference?

Back then the average kid did not notice it or get it because the cartoon was considered wholesome. I know I didn't. Or it was just plain easy to move on from it in the story line.

But yes, I view homosexuality as abnormal.
