Skyler McBee

Repost where I said Skylar was a very good ball handler please.

1."Ask your coach smartass, not me. He started him. For his ball handling?"

2."Why is he out there now? For ft shooting. He's managing the game."

3."Why start the same lineup that got you in trouble?"

4."For 5 years, which is why he should be on the end of the bench."

.............................................

1. from my interpretation you are saying the HC started him, and are insinuating for his ball handling.

2. you say he's out there to manage the game. to me managing the game is not turning the ball over and being able to handle it. also, managing the game to me would mean you had the trust of the coach to break a press.

just found these quotes interesting...

3. you even question the HC yourself here, which you are griping at others about doing? you wonder why start the same lineup that got you in trouble. well i know you arent referring to richardson, stokes or maymon so either you are saying tatum shouldnt be starting which you and i both know theres no chance of or you were suggesting he shouldnt have started mcbee at PG the second half. is that not what you were saying? and you were questioning the HC right?

4. so you say here that tatum doesnt play defense is what you were responding to and should be on the bench. im pretty sure he rebounds and defends much better than mcbee, yet you request tatum be on the bench and not mcbee? also by saying he should be on the bench you are once again questioning the HC, which is something you blast everyone else for. do you know more the CCM?

I love how you bring up consistency in your argument about McBee, and you're also the biggest Golden fanboy I've ever seen. Golden is the most inconsistent player on the team. If everything doesn't go his way early you can just mail it in that night.

you must be blind i hate on golden's recent play more than any other person, but at the same time i also realize that he is our best option at PG. do you not understand this?

and nothing that i even said in my post that you just responded to talked about consistency, everything i said you completely avoided and just made up a random respoinse. how about touching on what i said...

The guy who plays point the final 10 minutes and down te stretch isn't the guy ccm trusts, but the guy who comes in up 8 with 27 seconds left to shoot free throws is? Haha that's funny

39% from 3 is acceptable, if not pretty darn good. Skylar is at the disadvantage of the corn-fed, Jimmy Chitwood persona that our fanbase has labeled him with. He hustles and he plays smart moreso than anyone else on the team, which at times, isn't saying much. He is an above average (not great) shooter. He just struggles in most other areas by being at such a disadvantage physically and athletically.

if skylar was a consistant shooter at 40% id be fine but heres my problem...

23% on the road
30% in sec play

thats not good at all no matter how you wanna spin it

I don't understand why people can't discuss things without calling each other stupid, idiots, or other names. It completely distracts people from the facts that you are laying out. This isn't directed at anyone in particular. I'm just sayin.

Tatum and Mcrae would disagree.

Still waiting for you to repost where I said such.

Sunday mornings have become fun. I get my coffee, then correct you for about an hour before starting my day. Making up bs to try to support your arguments is weak, but unfortunately its becoming commonplace.

its up and waiting for you...

very interested what excuses you'll make to get out of this one

by the way im still waiting on you to address the other 2 areas of a previous post...

The bigger problem is 30% in sec play...you think that's good? Really? That's what ccm has a problem with, you think he'll take 30% all day? edit: now 28%

Guys, I know I'm always clowing on the kid but wtf??? I know this team is lacking serious talent but Skyler McBee should NEVER see the floor! Our three point (in my best jimmy dykes voixe) DEADLY SHOOTER is so darn streaky that i close my eyes everytime he takes a shot. Game after game he proves he cant keep up with guys but Bruce played 'em and so is Martin and all i hear is he works hard in practice. Seriously though...who cares! Working hard in practice aint translating to helping in games. I like that martin probably smacked some sense into golden but Washpun is even an upgrade over this guy. Am I seriously just missing something because i just dislike the guy so much or what??

The " practice hard = more playing time" is a good system to use. It rewards them for hard work. What if
someone clearly out hustled other players in practice but the less inspired but more talented players got more playing time? That would cause players to feel that regardless of their effort in practice, they would not be able to earn more playing time.
That would not be good for morale and could be interpreted as coachs showing favortism.

1. Why is Tom Brady a starting qb, for his speed? See how that works. In no way did I ever say he was a great ballhandler, as you said I did. That was a lie.
2. CM was managing the game by putting in Skylar at specific times, including at the end for ft's and early to get the ball on the block. Skylar's game management has nothing to do with breaking a press. CM will bring him out if a team presses.
3. Yes, I question in game decisions because all coaches make mistakes. I can be wrong as well. Questioning a lineup is quite different than saying a player sucks, shouldn't see the floor, making up bs to support your stance, and calling me an idiot and douche along the way. I thought the slow start would have made him adjust. He didn't change it and the 2nd half started slow again. I felt that would be the case, which is why I questioned it.
4. Any player who stands and watches as much as Cam should be benched when it happens, imo. Standing and watching is unacceptable.

Everyone questions coaches. I don't care if you do or not. I question more of what some of you see or don't see. If you don't see something, you make others out to be "idiots". CM sees something in McBee that some on here don't, or he wouldn't play. Is he an idiot too?

I said a coach will take 40% from 3 all day. Ask any coach if he'd take 40% from 3, then come back with the answer. I can't answer your 2 issues if one of them is made up. And coaches are always striving for 50%. Telling a player that 30% is fine is ridiculous and I didn't say that either.

Stop putting words in my mouth and making up **** that I said.

A coach is always pushing his players and will always try to get them to improve. No matter how well they're playing.

and i agree with all this now show me where mcbee should see ZERO minutes as you say i have said? i havent. this team is lacking talent especially at the 2 and 3 positions horribly, and that is why mcbee is playing. i dont really question why mcbee plays because i do get it and get what ccm is trying to use him to do, my problem is that skylar is not doing a good job at what he's out there to do. skylar is out there to be a knockdown shooter and to bring the D out away from our posts and when they double to knock down the shot, he isnt doing that though 28% in sec play. the problem is when he isnt knocking down the 3 his other weaknesses are glaring, such as his defense, because people are seeing him brick shots then get burnt. if he is hitting his shot like he was earlier in the year an is capable of doing well then most people, including myself are going to be more lax about his defense. basically, what im saying is if skylar knocks down 4 or 5 3's a game, or just a good % of his open looks, i believe people can live with the slow defense. BUT, when he is shooting about like josh richardson shoots, then most on here would rather see someone out there that can guard his position like josh is capabale of doing.

yes i do question the coach, actually i think in a round about way i just did in my post, i see nothing wrong with it thats what message boards are for is for discussions. however, i have not said that mcbee should see ZERO minutes as you say that i have, if i have i would really like to see this post i made...as i said im not quetioning ccm for playing mcbee, i was like you were, wondering why clearly the PG experiment didnt work are you trying it again in the second half. other than that as far as mcbee goes, i dont really question how martin plays him i get what he is trying to do and i get that offensively we just dont have much else that you can go with.

thats my point!!! yes ccm would take a consistant 40% 3 point shooter, skylar is not that. in sec games which is over a month now, and the games that are most important skylar is shooting 28% from 3. so you making the statement a coach will take 40% is pointless becaus skylar is not shooting 40% anymore, hes not shooting it how he was earlier in the year and this is obvious. that was what i was getting at at point 2, you cant say ask a coach if theyll take a 40% 3 point shooter because skylar is not that in sec play, you ask the coach would you take a 28% 3 point shooter in conference play? what would your answer be?

What are you taking dude? Skylar is playing just as good if not better than a lot of other guys right now. He's certainly outplaying Richardson right now for sure! Your comment doesn't make much sense! HE'S OUR BEST 3-PT SHOOTER AS WELL!

Skylar isn't our most athletic guy for sure but his hustle & determination makes up for that lack of athletic ability. Why do some people look at McBee as a liability for this team? He's far from the problem!

You are truly stupid if that's all you got out my post. You're telling me Golden has shot more FT's than McBee?? Damn where'd you find that precious little nugget of info? You must of dug real deep in the archives for that one. Skylar makes clutch FT's; please, please, please don't make me bring up all of Trae's clutch moments this season.

The point being, you seem to have some warped perception that CCM doesn't trust an 81% FT shooter. If you can't trust an 81% FT shooter to come in and knock them down, who can you trust? I'll agree, Golden has not been clutch within the offense at the end of games, but at the line, you have to like your odds with an 81% shooter. Golden has lost some games for us this year, but not one has come at the FT line.

I feel like he's playing because we have no thee source of offense at the 2 and 3 and ccm is just hoping he starts hitting. With tatum providing nothing and josh providing nothing as well offensively he has him out there hoping for a spark. Unfortunately he's not hitting and hasn't been since SEC play, 30%, the problem we have is just nobody else to play.

Personally I'd like to see Richardson an McRae start at the 2 and 3

fact....McBee SUCKS. It has nothing to do with his skin color or that crap on his face. If the only thing you can do is shoot threes and can't do that then ride the pine. Washpun is a turnover machine but at least he can penetrate and play good defense.

If McRae plays like he has the last couple of games maybe we don't have to worry about McBrick all that much

This is the third year youve been saying that, and he's still playing moron. Maybe yor hate is for other reasons. He's not a high caliber player but I've read this **** for three years and he's still playing significant minutes for whatever reason.

altidore is stuck on golden not being clutch a month ago dribbling the ball. if i had to pick a ft shooter IMO i pick golden, he was 90% in hs, has been 80%+ ever since being here, and he does it shooting A LOT more than mcbee.

that reason is because we have nobody else to play. you can bet if we had some guys here skylar wouldnt be seeing as many minutes.

He's playing because he's doing what he's supposed to do. He's a 3-pt specialist & he gives it his all on the court. He's playing better right now than several other guys on this team. The exceptions are Maymonne & Golden but he's even doing better than Golden at times.

I never thought I would say this but McBee has become a better defensive player than Golden. McBee might foul a lot but he does hustle on every trip defensively. You can't say the same for Golden!
