So, 8-wins could be in danger...

This game could teach us nothing but one thing - is the team focused and professional. The answer is no - in a year where fourth quarter leads have evaporated faster than Alvin Kamara sprints to the end zone.

Credit to North Texas - they had a game plan. But it shouldn't have mattered. Depth, in this game, is not an excuse. We lacked focus. It's to be expected with a noon kickoff against a cupcake. I think Butch needed to send a message to the fans that the team IS focused and he failed.

The next two teams have defences and the potential to capitalize on mistakes. I think this staff already has a lot to analyze in the off-season - a lot of time to be looking in that mirror.

If we lose either of the next two games (if we lose both, it's a no brainer) then Butch and the BSiA have to do extraordinary things in 2016 to continue receiving paychecks from the UTAD. There is simply not one excuse left for less than 8-wins. Team 120 will be play-off level special if they have the coaching.

We learn nothing from this game except, we really need to address the turf.

NT came out and played soft, and went home losers, with a big payday.

Go Vols!

Woe is me. We threw a shutout and won a game. Anybody got a cat-o-nine-tails? I really must flog myself.

Has anyone considered how bad the field conditions are right now in Neyland. We have fast WR and RBs and Qb. I counted many negative plays just due to their slipping. Before the negavols weigh in, it was on both sides....

In other words, our speed and ability to break tackles has been neutralized by the field conditions. When the RBs cut the slipped...when the WRs turned they slipped....

I predict big win at mizzou and close game versus Vandy if our field doesn't improve.

I agree. I think you hit some good points.

OMG Eddie said something that a percentage of volnation doesn't agree with. Freak out in 5,4,3,2

Seriously though the next 2 opponents will be playing with a high level of emotion. If Tennessee doesn't maintain focus it could lose both.

No one has more faith in Team 119. No one had more faith in the BSiA in the off-season (I came to believe strongly in the Debord hire as Butch telling us: "I got this.")

The problem is the evidence in the real world outside the back door. Daj has spreadsheets telling us - "Florida DID have more talent" when we all saw the reality; when it takes 99gator to explain that we had more talent and depth.

There have been DEEPLY troubling problems on Saturdays. Butch is elite Monday - Friday. I'm not willing to say that about the whole BSiA (Mahoney, Azzanni - I'm looking at you) but even Debord has scripted drives which work like a dream in the first quarter.

But it can fall apart hardcore on Saturdays. We have a 10-win team. Based on the evidence of the last seven quarters of football, we will be in a dogfight against the very bottom of a very mediocre SECE to make it to 8-wins. That's deeply concerning.

Hopefully, Butch just had them in neutral so they will be ready to turn it on in Columbia.

You need your "safe space" because of difference of opinion?

No, just sick of the irrational reactions. I get we didn't do well but we didn't actually have to. And I'll take a 24-0 victory with no injuries over a 59-0 rout where two guys got injured because we played balls out the entire game against a 1-8 team when we didn't have to.

I won't believe that Jones can beat Mizzou until I actually see it.

That;s the game we need to worry about! Because they will be ready for 4 quarters. Vandy will be a win but hard fought. I don't put much stock into todays win. We could have had 8 turnovers and still won. It was basically a bye week and to just run the offense and work out the kinks. But I have to say they will be super focused after today.

Will the Vol's be shut out by Missou or can the Vol's get up and win an SEC road game?

I honestly don't care if we win the next two by 1-point and we look fat and ugly doing it.

At this stage, just get to 8-wins.

This game concerned me, and I was fully prepared for a lacklustre win. I wonder if they're continuing to play Dobbs even though he's hurt. I'm concerned that a team that has blown several fourth quarter leads looks unfocused in the first 20-minutes of a cupcake game. To me, there was more than just standard "playing down to competition" mediocrity.

We've got a long trip to Mizzou to play a team itching to get their minds off fecal swastikas and cancer. Butch better get this team ready.

So you're looking at this from a negative point of view? Still 1 of the youngest teams in the country with 4 losses by a combined 17 pts to 3 teams ranked in the top 10 you don't see improvement just complaints. Do you remember a few years ago before CBJ arrived we we fortunate if we only lost by 17.

WE WON AND WILL FINISH 8-4 WITH A GOOD BOWL GAME!

LAUNCH MODE FOR 2016!

Disagree. I'd say our odds of winning out are no better than 50/50. Missouri and Vanderbilt will play their ass off against us. Both games will be decided by less than a touchdown.

If we can't have a half-way decent pass game we'll lose both of those games.

Well our next two opponents are 2-9 in conference (including a head to head game!) so we should get pretty healthy after that.

Our next two opponents have two of the best defenses in the conference. Hopefully we'll play as well against them as we have against the better teams on our schedule thus far.
