So, a topic came up at work

Led Zep. They are the only one I think. I can't see AC/DC selling that out.

Nope

Taylor Swift, U2, AC/DC, Justin Beiber, Rolling Stones

Not even close, doubtful in east Tennessee (I never understood the U2/Bono hype), nope, not in Knoxville, and no way in hades.

Aerosmith hasn't been mentioned, but maybe they could.

Maybe in 1985.

I don't think any band/group/performer alive today could sell out Neyland given that short a time frame (east Tennessee isn't densely populated enough). Youtube, high ticket/gas prices, and MP3s are just a nail in that coffin.

If they were all alive, the Beatles could do it. A young MJ in his musical prime could do it. Given more notice, I think the Foo Fighters would come as close as any active band/group, including U2.

Since it's hypothetical, Led Zepp could have 3 of the 4 original plus Bonzo's son on drums.

A Pink Floyd with Roger Waters probably could.

Just saw Waters do the Wall at the KFC Yum center. The most amazing concert experience I have ever had. Technology/visuals has finally caught up to the music. If anybody has a chance to see Waters do this show, do to miss it. It's great even if you never heard the Floyd before.

The only one I can think of is The Doors doing the hologrammed Jim Morrison with the rest of the original band which they are supposedly planning. I know I'd buy a ticket for it.

Foo Fighters, really?

I like a lot of their stuff, but I'm far from a huge fan. There are a lot of Foo fans out there, and they packed Wembley (capacity 90,000) a few years ago (2008). I think they would come as close as any current group - but they wouldn't sellout Neyland in that short time frame.

I am gonna go with Dylan playing with the living members of The Dead. I can't imagine East Tennessee filling up Neyland to watch a concert. Deadheads would come from all over to help fill it up.

Quite a difference between London and East TN though. Have they even played Knoxville?

Agreed, big difference between Knox and London. I don't think they would sell it out, especially on that short notice, but I believe they would fill it up pretty well. Their variety of sounds (everything from acoustic tours/albums to semi-hard rock) have made them more fans than most realize.

I don't think anyone could due to the short time frame, immense size of neyland, and relatively sparse east tn pop. Good question though.

I don't think one band could do it in that short amount of time these days. maybe Pink Floyd with Roger Waters. you put 2-3 together though...

PJ/U2 may come close to doing that in a short time period. maybe something like Rolling Stones/Aerosmith. I doubt either of those would sell out in 18 hours at Neyland though.

The reasons thatI said GNR, is a fairly broad appeal in this and surrounding areas, and a one time concert with Slash, Duff, Izzy, and Axl would get an enormous amount of hype, simply due to the fact that no one thinks it will ever happen. (which it won't)

Heard about this tour - sounds awesome.
