So are we putting all of our eggs in the Aaron Medley basket?

Because I've heard nothing about our place kickers.

Medley has a boot, I saw the video where he kicked the 65 yard field goal, but it's terrifying thinking we're putting this much stock into a true freshman.

I'm not positive but I think we have a couple other kickers such as bullock and brotus. Not positive though

I'm sure we have other kickers . I believe Bullock is still around. And surely we have a walk-on or soccer player lying around somewhere, if we need one.

If CBJ turned Palardy's career around, I could see him getting Medley's off to the right start.

Its not like we had a kicker that could kick a 30 yard field goal without you holding your breath to see if he made it the last 2 years, cant get any worse.

Palardy was 10-12 from 30-50 yards last year.

He only missed 3 kicks all year, from 33, 46, and 52 yards.

I'd hardly call those "holding your breath" numbers.

"We're taking about a kicker?". - Peyton Manning

Honestly though, this is one position where a guy with talent shouldn't have too much to learn, schematically. If he's got a leg and some nerves, Medley will be fine.

I'm much more concerned with the young inexperienced linemen.

He was pretty good last year, no doubt about it. Big improvements were made and he also punted at a very high level. But many of us were still holding our breath when the guy lined up to kick for much of the season. It took a little while for him to prove he had turned a corner lol.

It's not a big deal for FR to handle kicking duties. John Becksvoort, Jeff Hall, Alex Walls, and James Wilhoit all started as FR at UT and all had great careers for UT.

That's exactly what I thot when I read this Boca. Just to lazy to look up the names.

CBJ takes time at the end of practice just for the kicking game. He has the entire team knelt down on the sideline screaming at the kicker while he (coach) is standing right next to the kicker also yelling at him with loud, banging and sirens playing on the PA. He makes them practice under the most stressful, intense conditions... That's how Palardy got better.

Jeff Hall kicked a last second game winner vs UGA in his 2nd career game in '95...

There are backups and besides between Worley, Dobbs, and WRU the only thing Medley has to worry about is point afters.

Brodus! He injured one of the TE's in the circle of like drills! Let him kick it then make a path to the goal!! ;-)

Supposedly Bulluck showed improvement throughout the spring. I wouldn't be surprised if he shares the kicking duties in some capacity with Medley to start things off at least.
