If Texas wins out and is in the SECC game then likely whoever they're playing has 2 losses. Texas hands them a third loss and a 3 loss team still gets in over the Vols? If it comes down to Ole Miss and Georgia each with 2 losses does Ole Miss go to the championship game over UGA?

Give it a rest guys.... Vandy is licking their chops to play against this Vol defense. Vols are simply not a complete team - a good team and fortunate to have a favorable schedule. Team will be remembered for beating Florida and Alabama back to back and for some outstanding individual players. They had a huge opportunity tonight to be a superior team but were whipped badly at the line of scrimmage. 10-2 will still be a terrific season but I am not sure they have enough in the tank to play a road game against a decent team and win in Nashville. 9-3 still is a long way from the wilderness the program was in pre Heupel. Give the playoff chatter a break for awhile.

lol. Just stop yourself. Vandy won’t come close to doing anything against us. Vandy isn’t in UGA league.

We were neck and neck until the mid fourth and we still had a punching chance until about 3 minutes left.

Played like **** but still played hard against a good UGA team. I get the frustration but beating UGA in the road is a huge order for ANY team.

So the last 10 years, the committee has been shown not to drop the loser of the Conference Championship Game as much as they normally do a when a team loses a game (it’s been about 1-2 spots on average…3 in a few cases of an absolutely, utter blowout)…it’s sort of been like the committee kind of realizes the team had to play an extra, 13th game that everyone else didn’t and so they don’t punish them as harshly.

So unless the Conference Championship Game loser is literally the spot above the last 10-2 team being discussed…probably the Conference Championship Game loser.

I’m still glad that we were even in the conversation. Complaining about being “only 8-2” is a long way from where they were before Heupel arrived. Pleased to finally have a competitive team again. And that game tonight was competitive. First time in years against them.

Georgia - the most talented team in the country - was played their best game of the season against us tonight at home…like wtf…were easily one of the top 10 teams in the country- but probably don’t make the playoff… hopefully the system improves at we get an actual tourney featuring the best teams.

We’re not a playoff team??

I think we’re at least good enough to beat Penn State, Notre Dame, SMU, Bama, Miami, Texas, Boise State, Indiana, etc.

Hell I think we’re good enough to play Georgia tight on a neutral field although I don’t think home field was the reason we lost tonight.

We put Georgia in good position to play that kind of game as well. Never really pressured Beck.

The current system is as dumb as it gets. Who wants to share the championship tournament with Big 12 and ACC powderpuff teams? Don’t even get me started on the G5 auto bid.

Look at money and recruiting and the SEC comes way out on top. It’s so much harder to win here than anywhere else.

We will beat Vandy senseless. This was a tough spot against a very good opponent who was backed into a corner in their building. I’m frustrated with the poor defensive play, but it doesn’t negate the other nine games we’ve played.
