So at 10-2 why not...

Florida will beat Ole Miss in the swamp. Texas will play Bama in the SECCG and give Bama its 3rd loss. Texas, UGA, Tennessee and 3-loss South Carolina or 3-loss Bama will be in the playoffs. And I’m not just hoping for a miracle… Florida has turned a corner. People underestimate home field advantage. How many games had Tennessee lost at home or on a neutral site the past 3 seasons? 1? It’s a big deal. Florida beats Ole Miss

There are games that will affect it somewhat over the next two weeks but at the moment…probably Alabama.

Alabama’s is over .500
Georgia’s and A&M’s are around .450
Ole Miss’s is around .400
Tennessee’s is sitting at a spot that’s probably going to put them around .350 when all things are said and done.
of course Alabama gonna sneak in. What’s the committe going to do if bama gets in but suffers a third loss? That’ll be interesting to see if it plays out that way

A 2 loss Vol team. Could’ve been a 1 loss team but **** the bed against a team that Ole Miss destroyed. Yeah, I don’t care at this point. Playoffs or not, the Vols F’d up their future with another disgusting loss to the POS Dawgs. The game was appalling to say the least. A team either has IT or NOT and the VOL’s didn’t NOT. Another pathetic loss.

The last 10 years, the committee has only dropped the conference championship game losers about 1-2 spots on average…3 if it’s a brutal, brutal blowout (essentially, they don’t punish the team that had to play an extra 13th game - that almost every other team didn’t play as much - as much as they do for losing one of the regular 12 season games, that all the teams play).

Unless Alabama is sitting 1 spot over the last team in, it’s likely not going to have much an effect.

It is painful to see this opportunity slip away. That being said, this team is more than likely winning 10 games. That is a great CFB season. I am thankful we aren't watching frauds like Pruitt and Bitch set this program back 10 more years. We are on the right track and with a few tweaks, I believe we make a leap.

A 3 loss bama team is going to throw the country into an uproar 😂. I see the logic behind not punishing them and the logic behind it.

This team's offense is pathetic. Only positive on offense is Sampson. Oline is weak. WRs are MIA most of the time. Playing calling is rinky-dink like they are feeling their way. Nico's top throwing skill is making a quick out to the sidelines. And Sampson is able to get a lot of yardage on his own. When they ever so occasionally open a real hole, he finds it for big gains and often to the house.

Georgia may not make the playoffs but they are good enough to stake a claim for a spot. Carson Beck carved up our Defense with precision making big time throws down field and he even runs better than Nico. Is there anyone who would not agree that Beck was clearly the better QB. To be fair to Nico, he is on a lousy, mistake prone offense that has to play within 10 yds of the LOS because the OL can't protect well enough to use longer routes very often. Then, too, it's hard to know how limited he is by this offense or the pedestrian pass plays they design for him.

The numbers tell the story. Beck 25-40, 347 yds 2 TDs Nico 20-33, 167 yds, 0 TDs, 5 sacks

TN needs to be firing up the media. Two losses both on the road at night. Team is good at home.and neutral sites. Fans always draw. Won't get blown out like ND does every year.
Great points.

Unfortunately Tennessee “fans” say we don’t deserve to be in at 10-2 but Penn st, Alabama, ole Miss, A&M, Georgia, and a slew of other possible 10-2 teams do .

If Texas wins out and is in the SECC game then likely whoever they're playing has 2 losses. Texas hands them a third loss and a 3 loss team still gets in over the Vols? If it comes down to Ole Miss and Georgia each with 2 losses does Ole Miss go to the championship game over UGA?
It's over brother

Ole Miss and Bama both have the inside track to Atlanta over Georgia and both would be eliminated from the playoffs if they lose to Texas since the margins between the 2 loss teams are so small.

The committee would have a hard enough time putting Bama in over Tennessee with the head-to-head result in their face. There is no way a 3-loss Bama gets in over 2-loss Tennessee. That’d be asinine.

Ole Miss lost to Kentucky. Yay they beat UGA. We beat Bama who beat UGA. They also lost to LSU who has lost to 2 teams we beat. Our resume stacks up better against them than the negavols will admit. A 3rd loss, even in the SECCG, and they’re out.

I agree with this. I think Florida will beat Ole Miss. I wouldn’t mind seeing Bama go down in Norman as well.

Well, if you are getting technical, yeah. A UGA loss and 11-1 we are still in.

We HAVE to fix the on the road breakdowns we have.
I would have helped if UGA had beaten Ole Miss. I never understood when our fan base was cheering for UGA in that game we needed OM to have a 3rd loss to get in.

So the last 10 years, the committee has been shown not to drop the loser of the Conference Championship Game as much as they normally do a when a team loses a game (it’s been about 1-2 spots on average…3 in a few cases of an absolutely, utter blowout)…it’s sort of been like the committee kind of realizes the team had to play an extra, 13th game that everyone else didn’t and so they don’t punish them as harshly.

So unless the Conference Championship Game loser is literally the spot above the last 10-2 team being discussed…probably the Conference Championship Game loser.
True…until they phase out the conference championship games I’d bet the losers from the SEC and Big 10 always gets into the playoffs. How can you punish the #2 team from the top two conferences because they were successful enough to make the championship game? It may mean they slip down to the 9-12 spots but I’d bet they are still in.
