So at 10-2 why not...

TN needs to be firing up the media. Two losses both on the road at night. Team is good at home.and neutral sites. Fans always draw. Won't get blown out like ND does every year.

We won't be in the playoff and don't really belong there. The Arkansas loss was inexcusable. I dunno what it is why we can't ever seem to play penalty free, or relatively penalty free football, but Heupel isn't any different than previous staffs in that regard. It's one thing to lose but to shoot yourself in the foot continually all game, and pretty much every game..

Do I expect us to make the playoff? No. But are we out? Absolutely not. I don’t see 5 SEC teams getting in. Texas, Georgia, Ole Miss are locks and as long as Bama wins out, they’ll get a spot even though we beat them.

The question is the Big Ten/Twelve. We need Indiana to get crushed by the Buckeyes and BYU to lose prior to the Big 12 championship. Oregon, Ohio State are locks and Penn State still only has 1 loss.

It stings not to control your own destiny but it is what it is. I’m still proud of this team for competing and hanging tough. They haven’t lost a home game in 5 years.

Texas looked wayyyy worse at home against Georgia than we did on the road. Disappointed but GBO!

We were neck and neck until the mid fourth and we still had a punching chance until about 3 minutes left.

Played like **** but still played hard against a good UGA team. I get the frustration but beating UGA in the road is a huge order for ANY team.
Georgia is good. But not great this year. Prime opportunity to get the chance to play for a sec championship and a guaranteed playoff spot. We came out flat. I hate to say it, but we looked unimpressive. Pass rush was weak. Secondary got burnt. It sucks

Give it a rest guys.... Vandy is licking their chops to play against this Vol defense. Vols are simply not a complete team - a good team and fortunate to have a favorable schedule. Team will be remembered for beating Florida and Alabama back to back and for some outstanding individual players. They had a huge opportunity tonight to be a superior team but were whipped badly at the line of scrimmage. 10-2 will still be a terrific season but I am not sure they have enough in the tank to play a road game against a decent team and win in Nashville. 9-3 still is a long way from the wilderness the program was in pre Heupel. Give the playoff chatter a break for awhile.
Terrific is making the playoffs. 10-2 is slightly better than average in the new SEC.

If Texas wins out and is in the SECC game then likely whoever they're playing has 2 losses. Texas hands them a third loss and a 3 loss team still gets in over the Vols? If it comes down to Ole Miss and Georgia each with 2 losses does Ole Miss go to the championship game over UGA?
The sec is a mess right now. It’ll come down to 3 or 4 way tie I bet. Head to heads gonna come in, and even then idk what they’ll do

I see us in a Gator....Citrus...Music City type Bowl against a Wisconsin or Iowa again.....Damn it.

We've been undisciplined the 4 years Heupel has been here. It gets no better from year to year. That's 100 percent on coaching.

The current system is as dumb as it gets. Who wants to share the championship tournament with Big 12 and ACC powderpuff teams? Don’t even get me started on the G5 auto bid.

Look at money and recruiting and the SEC comes way out on top. It’s so much harder to win here than anywhere else.

Are you saying we should change conferences?

Serious question. Do Vandy games still get dominated in ticket sales by visiting teams? Haven’t been to that dwarf house in a while.

False. Only one team isn’t 10-2 in the sec and that’s Texas. 10-2 is damn good in the sec no matter how you wanna slice it. 10-2 teams are getting in the playoffs in the sec. We can too.
False. We lost on the road to a mediocre Arkansas team because of vanilla coaching. A loss tonight wouldn’t have mattered if not for that loss. We aren’t sniffing a playoff game without a lot of others losing games they shouldn’t.

Ole miss lost to Kentucky and lsu. Bama lost to Vandy. Still 2 weeks of football left but if you wanna say the seasons over just quit watching.

Head to heads only come in with the new tiebreaker when you have a round robin type situation (ie, every team in the tie has played every other team in the tie).

Because there is no round robin and also no common opponent for all 4-5 teams, the deciding tiebreaker would be cumulative conference winning percentage of all conference opponents for all 4-5 teams.

I didn’t know that. This is the first time since I’ve watched the sec that theirs this big a log jam up at the top. So besides Texas who’s gonna get in?

You can kid yourself all you want but it’s over without major help. We swapped spots with Georgia as first team out. And don’t count your chickens before they hatch because the vanilla won’t beat Vandy either. Ask Bama

I’m not kidding myself I just know a lot can happen in 2 weeks. And we have no idea what the committee is going to do. Saying the season over already is just bc you’re over emotional after the loss and that’s okay. I get it I’m disappointed too.

There are games that will affect it somewhat over the next two weeks but at the moment…probably Alabama.

Alabama’s is over .500
Georgia’s and A&M’s are around .450
Ole Miss’s is around .400
Tennessee’s is sitting at a spot that’s probably going to put them around .350 when all things are said and done.
