We gave the committee an excuse to leave us out as I feared we would.

Hello National Irrelevant Tournament (NIT) !

What a childish and petulant rant...yeah, the players care less than you do. What a complete tool.

We are in...not a lock but I would be willing to give 2-1 for anyone that wanted to bet against it.

You might literally be the first person ever to classify a three sentence statement as a rant.

No we don't.

I think the SEC is frowned upon more than it should be in which case, sure, we deserve to be in.

Knowing what was on the line though, we don't deserve to be in. Bubble vs. bubble and we lost. No reason to think we'd make a run in the tournament. Couldn't even make a run in the SEC tourney with our butts on the line.

I think the key thing is bubble vs bubble. It makes it really easy for the selection committee. I don't see us and Bama both getting in so I'd have to say Bama. 2-1 against us and a better conference record. RPI is almost identical.

As a sports fan, losing breaks my heart. I'm just a "fan" for being realistic though. I cheer for one college in all sports and one team in every league I'm a fan of. But if you don't love it, leave it... that's the attitude some people have around here.

I know man.I love TN and sorry but losing sucks!I would understand if we just didn't have the talent. What bothers me is the effort.Anytime anyone questions something we're negavols!

How do we deserve to be in? We play in a horrible conference and aside from about 3 weeks struggled the entire season. Add in yet another SECT no-show, and this team just has NIT written all over it.

we haven't had the best season but they are TONS of teams in the tourney who UT is much better than. Kentucky is in the SEC too, and we beat them by 30 points; yet they are going to make the tourney

I voted for out, but they could creep back up if some other teams lose and there are no huge tournament upsets.

UK also beat Tennessee once, and the beatdown in Knoxville was after UK lost their best player to a season ending injury. Sure, UT was net positive on the aggregate scores, but the reality is both teams just no-showed on the road. The UK matchups are pretty much a wash IMO.

If I were on the committee, with my orange tinted glasses off, there is no way I would select this team. Last year I was glad they didn't make it because I thought They might make a run in the NIT. We all know how that turned out.

I thought it would have done them good to get more games in the NIT than a one and done in the NCAA last year. With Stokes being so young I thought it would have better prepared them for this year. Remember I thought this would be Maymon's last year.

I say we are out---we had a nice run but the SEC as a whole is down. I can't help but think how things should have shaken out had we not stumbled out of the gate OR picked up one of those OOC losses (Virginia, Georgetown) and come up with a win. Dropping both games to Georgia was not optimum either---our margin for error was pretty thin. Overall, I think we SHOULD have been a tournament team (the ingredients were there) but this team took too long to break out of the offensive slump early on in the year. You can't control other teams but I dare say this team underachieved---and Martin has one more year to get the ship righted (IF we truly don't get in).

McRae says in.

Vols' Jordan McRae: "There should be no reason we’re not in the (NCAA Tournament). I mean, no reason.”

This team deserves a play in game with their resume. The rest of the SEC Tourney though should spell out where this team ends up.
