Everyone should learn about the carbon cycle and the first law of thermodynamics. You know you aren't exhaling any more CO2 than you at some point inhaled, right?

I think some people are missing the point on the whole issue. Yes, we have fringes driving the discussion.

We have one fringe who are basically telling the West that evil capitalist industrialists are purposefully destroying the environment sending us into a massive downward spiral that will cause Mother Earth to get her revenge by earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes, etc. Therefore we must tax the ever loving daylights out of every multinational corporation to stop this apocalypse.

Another fringe denies there can be any change to climate at all.

The first fringe is large and works dilligently to pas laws which will ultimately do little to change what some call cyclical behavior but destroy a global economy as we know it. The second fringe is small and has no control over anything.

In the end, the credibility of the fringe group pushing for regulation is tainted when emails and admissions like we've seen come out.

Add to that, someone do some reading on Communism and environmentalism. Stalin had some tesing done within the ComIntern on pushing for environmental regulation. It was seen as a test to push a moderate stance that could be taken by all which could be applied at a legislative level to hinder capitalism. Since environmentalism was not exactly a popular idea of the day, nothing ever occurred. but since the 60's, read the propaganda by some of these fringe marxist groups who have taken up the cause - mainly for their own motivation of provoking severe regulation on capitalist economies. Look at who pushes this now. You hear the Marxist leaders of the world speak on climate change but never mention this as part of their own agenda. They are taking a mainstream type issue, pushing it in college campuses, third world nations, etc. in an effort to legislatively hinder capitalism.

I have to applaud all of the politicians who were stuck in DC over the past few days witnessing record snow and still harping on about global warming. The irony comes with ads about 'stop global warming' as I looked out my hotel window at people trying to shovel their cars out of deep drifts there on the Hill.

Oh and a congrats to the 'successful' effort of government. Fenty's snow brigade still has not cleared the streets as promised. Over 48 hours after the snow stopped the city is still in gridlock. Thanks to liberal government working better for you the people.

You sure? I find it entirely too easy. Yes, while conservatives have had their moments, it's like the 5 degrees of separation with ineptitude somehow finding its way back to a liberal origin.

but I don't find any subset of the politicians in office (or those vying for office) to be worth pissing on today. The job is now simply a lucrative career laden with perks and handsome retirement. None of them actually give a shat about the laws that govern our people.

longing for the days when running for Congress was second to running for state offices...now it's all about throwing a few bones - er, bribes under the guise of 'breaks', roads, pork, token tax cuts, etc. - to the constituents to keep them in office while they address their true controlling elements of special interests.

Increased winter snow storms in the Eastern US are predicted by many GCC models. They are driven by midlatitude cyclones. You will probably scoff at that...

and the ones that predicted the Haitian earthquake, since that was supposed to have been caused by GW/GCC.

Ahhhh...those. I remember them now. I thought it was the "Dennis Quaid movie" model. That Dick Cheney look-alike - man he was just so evil. We just need more Quaid in the world to solve all of our problems.

But yet oddly they are the ones taking the charge on forcing legislation on the subject - forcing their citizens to abide by questionable results and motives. So by default, these politicians will be ignored and their legislation be fought against.
