So, naysayers?

I agree that the jury is still way out about whether the spread option will ultimately work against SEC defenses, but if Chavis doesn't do something about the way we play defense against the option, next year's game could be ugly. We're going to have to do something about our overpursuit against option teams, that's for sure.

If you get beat on the line of scrimmage, it doesn't really matter which scheme your opponent uses. Spread, wishbone, I, single wing--if you are whipped up front, it is going to be a long day.

"Save the line of scrimmage, save the world." [should be whispered for maximum effect.]

And the annual butt-kicking for UT has only begun in this new UF coaching error....

Freudian slip? Sometimes grammatical mistakes are funny:)

The thought of being dominated by florida for the next 5 years is making me nauseous.

We're going to have to see significant improvement on defense, particularly the D-line. We need some big nasties to keep the Teblow off tackle thing from working. Wouldn't it be nice to have Henderson and Haynesworth back? Pretty sure he wouldn't be able to use "fetal-position up the middle" (his oft running style) very effectively against those DTs.

Well, while UF might have 75% of their secondary back on paper, JR SS Reggie Nelson is a likely 1st round pick and won't come back. So, only 50% will be back.

Florida will return 5 offensive starters: 4 OL and a TE.

Percy Harvin didn't start that much. Baker, Caldwell, and Cornelius did. They all graduate. Tebow didn't start either. So ... 5 returning starters, but the non-starters have experience.

On defense, Florida will return 4 starters, unless JR DE Jarvis Moss and JR MLB Brandon Siler leave, which is possible. So, as little as 2 returning.

I've been impressed with Tebow some this year and then when he gets stopped it makes me wonder how good he really is? He hurt us pretty bad when we played them but I wonder if that was because we just didn't expect to see him or if he's that good....Guess I'll have to wait and see next year when Tebow is the man

All season long, some people here have said Meyer couldn't win in the SEC. That he was a gimmick. Well, even without his main offensive philosophy, he's won the SEC Title.

We still don't know if the spread option will have longterm success in the SEC. However, we need to give Urban Meyer some quiet respect and kudos. He just won the SEC in his 2nd season.

i believe i predicted this. the same as UT won't see another SEC CHAMPIONSHIP as long as fulmer as at the helm. mark it down.:peace2:

We'll be alright against Florida if we can find some gamebreakers of our own...our versions of Tebow and Harvin. Coker looks like he will be one.

We have Ainge and Meachem...
I think he may be talking about next year? Next year our gamebreakers will be Ainge and Coker....And I have a feeling with Ainge and Coker in the backfield next year we'll have a VERY good back field.....Coker gives the run game some explosiveness.....I just hope Meachem stays so Ainge has someone to throw to next year....But I'm beginning to accept the fact that he's gone

I'll hate to see him go though he's exciting to watch....Does anyone think Meachem is similar to Peerless Price in the sense that he can catch just about anything that is throw his way?

That's what I was looking for. Thanks for the knowledge. :)

Honestly, whatever they get to replace him will be better, so hopefully he's still there.
