Dont really care who commits next, because one thing is for sure if this coaching staff thinks you can play you get the offer, unlike the last regime where it got to the point they just wanted bodies whether you could play or not!

The book on Scroggins isn't closed.....
Who gives a damn about Scroggins ?

According to Rivals Scroggins is rated the 3rd best PS QB and Bray is 4th. Both have a 5.9 rating. I would be wiling to bet you this staff could care less about Scroggins at this point.

I'd be willing to be they'd welcome him with open arms if he wanted to change his commitment.

Agreed. There was talk that Scroggins was going to take an official to UT just to come visit his friends.

If I were Kiffin, I'd tell him thanks, but no thanks.

If we only take 1 more WR who would you rather have Cobbs or Stills?

That is a tough one, Cobbs is a little slower than I would like, but is obviously a good fb player due to his rating, but I would go with Stills who is a speedy WR that was good enough to have USC interested.

Thought Bray was 6th PS QB?

The staff's original plan was to take 2 QBs in this class. If Scroggins said right now that he wanted to come to UT, I doubt the coaches would turn him away, independent of today's commitment from Bray. JMO

He is currently 6th....I don't know where people are getting 4th from....

5 Connor Wood (6-4/209) Texas
6 Tyler Bray (6-6/187) Tennessee
7 Paul Jones (6-3/226) Penn State
8 Austin Hinder (6-4/185) California
9 Joe Boisture (6-6/202) Michigan State

Of course they would not turn down the 3rd rated PS QB if he changed his mind and pursued them, but I'd bet you the staff does not pursue him. There is a BIG difference between the two.

That's weird. I clicked a rivals link earlier and it had Bray 4th, right behind Scroggins, no lie.

I don't know why (I think he's visiting for UCLA, not sure), but something's telling me our next commit is Leifheit. Call it a hunch.

You let me know if you think we can go through next season with no backups getting PT using the following:

Center is Kevin Revis

Dallas Thomas LT maybe JerQuari Schofield backup?
Cody Pope LG
Aaron Douglas RT backup Shaw
William Brimfield (converted DL) RG

Depth is Carson Anderson and Dallas Thomas? Am I missing a reason to think that 4 star OL talent will not be able to get in as backups real early on especially if some of them are December enrollees?

That depth chart is horrendous. That is why our #1 concern now should be getting at least 2 JUCO OL who can come in and contribute immediately. Cullen and Curry would be perfect imo. I believe the staff is waiting to see which JUCOs can get enrolled at UT in January before they make a strong push for them...

I don't think Revis will be starting at center. I just can't imagine that happening. Pope was a center at one point, maybe he goes back there...

Shaw is our starting RT right now. He won't be backing up Douglas...

I think the next commit will be some JUCO o-lineman filling the need, maybe John Cullen.

I like Bray and think he will be a great fit at Tenn but I don't think there is anyone that will commit immediately just because of him...he will help for sure but I think more will be riding on our game day performance than him.

I would like to think we pick up Cobbs soon but I think it will be after he visits and I would rather have him than Stills. I was reading that even though he is a WR he plays really physical and has the build of a LB. I'll take the heavy hitters that can break a tackle or two any day of the week. Riley is pretty high on the Vols right now too...I'd say he commits not too far down the road.

Our LBs needed some beef. Jeff Luc would be a HUGE pick up for us. What do you guys think our chances are with him and when is he visiting? Who all will be here for UCLA?

I would love if that happened! He is going to be at the UCLA game, but I think he may want to see a bit more of how UNC plays this year before he decides.

If he wants to play the best competition in the country let alone competition at all... he'd choosee UT over NC. The ACC is horrendous. After losses to Richmond and William & Marry the ACC should lose their BCS card. Heck, they should lose their FBS card.:pukeb:

Multiple threads on the UCLA game.

Luc is a strong lean to FSU according to everyone, but he does have respect for Monte and when Nick Reveiz looks like a very strong LB in our system I think it makes Luc salivate.

If Eric Berry's parents had a job and Jeff Luc's mom had a nice house in Knoxville we would be doing much better as a program. Also we would be much more like USC than we are now...:)
