I think we ought to be decent. Isn't the line of scrimmage supposed to be the key in the SEC? I think we have talent there on both sides of the ball.

We will not lose to Western Kentucky! We still have good talent and Butch will have this team playing more soundly. I truly believe our resurgence has started.

Bloggers? Seriously? Who cares

Anyone with half a brain knows we aren't likely to win more then 7 games. Why get upset over someone else's opinion? Remove chip from shoulder.

It will be tough to win more than 7 with our linebacker depth and secondary issues

I don't think secondary is a weakness. Last year's scheme would make you think everyone is slow and clumsy. Give this coaching staff time to coach before you right off the defense

Exactly. Last years scheme was so bad that all those fast, talented defensive backs on our roster were not able to show their coverage and tackling abilities. The scheme is too blame for players of all conference skills looking like a sandlot group on the field. The scheme is so bad that Bama is considering not using it anymore as well. All across football coaches are going to stop playing 8 man fronts with man coverage & a post safety. Bad scheme is bad.

1. Until we start proving we're winners again, this is par for the course.

2. WKU has a proven coach, IF, IF, IF we walk onto the field presuming we can win by just yelling "BOO!" them, remember Akron and Troy.

3. Rejoice that we're being written off. It's all that much the sweeter when we prove them wrong.

4. It's their blog, they can say what they want.

5. Finally, in their hearts, they want Tennessee to win. Remember when it looked like we might turn the corner just before the Florida game? ESPN and others were talking us up. Networks do better when Tennessee is in the hunt and winning. Our fans travel well, Nielsen ratings jump, and big name schools want to play us because it means big money for them.

Butch wasn't talking rise to the top for nothing. He knows all the above,'bout time all whiners know it too.

WKU will come in believing. That is half the battle. Petrino can coach. Take WK & the points.

If you think WKU beating UT is waaay out there, then you haven't been paying attention.
Not saying it's going to happen, but them beating us would be less of a surprise than if we beat Bama or Florida this year.

There's a lot of time between now and September, to predict any amount of wins is ignorant at this point.. A&M was predicted to only win 6-7 games in there debut in the SEC, thanks to good coaching and having an unknown Qb prove himself on the field. well, they proved the prognosticators wrong! And so the same can happen for UT, you never know who might step up and be a leader. With our senior laden O-line and good Rb play, the sky's the limit. The question is how bad do they want it?

Butch Jones wants it! So, there's a lot of time for that to rub off on the players.. And you can already start to see it happening! Go Vols..

Tennessee will go 9-3 or 8-4. Winning over Austin Peay, Western Ky., South Alabama, South Carolina, Missouri, Auburn, Vanderbilt & Kentucky. Losing to Oregon, Florida & Alabama. Georgia is a toss up. Tennessee will also win the bowl game. So there, Book it!

Love the optimism. 8-4 would be a beautiful thing. But I'm not getting hung up in the record next year. Not next year.
