I'm not going to get hung up on the record next year either. So maybe we'll have a huge upset of one of those teams I said we'll lose to. Florida?

Sooo if we lose 9+ games for the first time in UT history yall aren't going to have a problem with that or be concerned?? Just making making sure. Cause for a fan base that can't get over losing to KY for the first time in 26 yrs I find it tough to believe a 9 loss season isn't going to cause an issue.

Not saying that's going to happen but it's a possibility. WKY is game we better be careful with. Its early and can kill confidence. Absolutly no excuse for not going to a bowl game next season. Now on the other hand we can have one of those freak seasons like the Aggies did or like mich did hokes first season. Who knows.

If we win 7 games next year, can notice some progress on the field, and dont have any mindblowing bonehead coaching decisions, I will feel as though the 2013 season will be a success. As long as we have something to really build on going into 2014, I will be happy with the job Jones is doing.

A guy from ESPN put that as one of his potential SEC surprises. Says Petrino will be motivated to prove he should have been hired for one of the SEC openings. Not going to happen though.

Yup. This would be a good solid transition the Vols need and it's realistic IMO.

Love the optimism and definitely believe 8-4that is doable. But every time someome says Book It on here it never happens and usually is the exact opposite. So in that case i'm going with 2-10..Book It, LOL..

Yeah it would. I think inexperience at qb is a big barometer of success tho. Unfortunately well be breaking in a new one. Worley hopefully will have a breakout year, Tn is due one. Wouldn't be surprised to see butch play both tho, he's had no qualms about it elsewhere

If the Vowels win 5 games, we may be considered over acheivers....sadly.....4-8 is real possibility....many of our fans have visions of Grandeur. The mood of the fans at the end of the season will indeed be interesting.

The main thing this staff should be concerned with, (and they are) is getting back to being confident and teaching these kids how to win. If you have checked out the program in the last decade, we have forgotten how to do that on a regular basis.

This staff is doing the necessary things now to enable these kids to not have huge mental breakdowns this fall, that could lead to majors set-backs, (losses to WKU etc...) If they continue to grow mentally, and get in better shape, I think that a 6-7 win season would be a huge step in the right direction for our program.

I'm not saying that should be our goal, obiviously we want to win every game and should play every game as such, but not looking past any opponent on our schedule this year will get us to a respectable win total, 6-7.

Remember yes we have gotten some great recruits so far....that could absolutely change if we lay some goose eggs against the teams we are already penciling in as W's.

Do you honestly doubt there are people saying we will lose to Western Kentucky? Surely there are a handful of people dumb enough to believe it.

Not saying they will but the potential is there for this team with senior OL and with Neal and Lane to line up and just mash some people. If they can then it will take pressure off young QB's and the D. I mean if 3rd and 3 is a seriously considered running down then this team could surprise us all in a very good way.
