So Stupid Checker Neyland, Just Win

Home field advantage the John McKay way:

"Hold when you're at home and don't hold when you're on the road."

We should have been holding like Hell on offense and defense last week...and this week too. Arkansas held our Dlinemen on nearly every play in the game, their DBs were mugging our WRs too from time to time.

Not 1 holding call on Arkansas. Blatant BS. Thats on our coaches though, in several different ways. We should have done the same...though we DID get a drive killing holding call on Campbell as he was getting his ass handed to him every snap. Coach should have been so far up those refs butts that he could brush their teeth from the backside too. Relentless butt chewing. They hate us anyway for making them do their job twice as fast as anyone else does. Lets see if we get hosed again this week at home.

Does anybody know what out all-time checker Neyland record is? I don't feel like it's real good.
Of course it’s not good because we only do it against high level SEC competition. Most often Florida who has won the last 17-20 games in the series. Checkering , orange helmets or pants, etc. have nothing to do with the talent of the teams, the coaches, and the way they perform.
Those things, running thru the T, Vol Walk, Rocky Top, are just part of the pageantry of the game to enhance the fan experience.

Okay fine, but you didn't answer my question. I was curious if anybody knew it. No need to be touchy about it. Also checkering Neyland is nowhere near running through the T, the Vol Walk or Rocky Top in stature. It is no older of a "tradition" than Butch's "Third Down For What?".

Wasn’t trying to be touchy
I’m sorry I don’t know the exact number.
But if memory serves and you won’t hold me to this, I think we are about 2 wins - 5 losses.

Thanks. It looks really cool, but like Don Corleone, I'm a superstitious man when it comes to sports, hopefully we can get the juju flowing in the right direction though.

Oklahoma the first time was awesome. It’s got worse over the years and doesn’t look as good because so many off colors in all sections. It was special early on but doing it every year is becoming routine and doesn’t look like that picture
There is absolutely no reason to get racist about this!

To that end, I will tell you that I loved the new Orange helmet.
But I knew when they wore them in the disastrous loss at SCarolina, that many fans would associate them with the loss and blame the helmets.
Anyone that works in marketing knows that you always present a new product through a “soft opening “. Like a restaurant only inviting family and friends to their first night serving food until the kinks are worked out.
The Vols should have unveiled the new helmets against a vastly inferior out of conference opponent at home like Chatt or Kent State. That way the new helmets are associated with a win and not a loss.

I think the orange shoes are 0-1. Bama in 1986?
