NOW I'm hearing it's because Treon Harris was ineligible.

But I think people are just making things up now.

Well Butch maybe over his head in big boy ball if he can't manage wins vs bad teams.

Just a thought.

Starting to think that myself.

Maybe 100% correct.

I'm going to wait a little while longer before making that final judgment. Butch still has nowhere near the talent that Fla had on Sat. Driskell stinks it up and they bring in a true freshman QB that led them to victory. If Worley goes down (even as bad as he played), we are screwed. We have very little depth and what we do have is not that talented. We're basically playing a JV team against a bunch of loaded SEC squads. Butch's margin for error is not real large right now. Next year and two years from now it will be because he'll mave much better talent. Then we'll know a lot more.

The only saving grace is that it extended Muschamp a little longer. Whether he gets through this year remains to be seen. I've been to every Fla-UT game in Knoxville since 1990 and this had to be the lowest Fla turn out I can ever remember. There was very little celebrating by Fla fans too unlike previous years. Amazing how far both programs have fallen.

Five-star Seffner Armwood defensive end Byron Cowart attended Florida’s season-opening win against Eastern Michigan and was impressed with Harris then. He threw just two passes for 148 yards and a pair of touchdowns in his college debut.

After seeing Harris excel again in Knoxville, Cowart is excited about him being UF’s quarterback for years to come. Cowart joked that he might try to play tight end if he goes to Florida.

“You have to be the man at that quarterback spot,” he said. “You have to be able to motivate the players around you. When he gets in, you can tell everyone is hyped and ready to play. He breaths life into the offense and the team.

“It’s exciting as a defensive player to know he brings confidence. I know if we get a three-and-out, this guy can make it happen. Knowing Florida has a guy that gets everyone clicking, that’s good.”

Jacksonville Ed White receiver Javarius Davis said Harris is one of the reasons he would choose the Gators, and he thinks a lot of recruits feel that way.

“I love Treon,” Davis said. “He just has that swag, man. He’s a big playmaker, and that’s what you need on offense. He’s going to help in recruiting. Guys want to play with him just like I do. If I went there with him as the quarterback, we would have a very explosive offense.”

Another in-state receiver, Ryan Davis of St. Petersburg Lakewood, has been a fan of Harris since his high school career at Miami Booker T. Washington, noting that he hasn’t lost a game since his sophomore year.

“I’ve known about Treon for a while,” Davis said. “He played well against Tennessee. He managed the game and made plays to get the win. With him just being a true freshman, that’s real big. He’s only going to get better.”

Harris’ reach extends outside of the state Florida. Daniel Imatorbhebhe, a tight end from who Suwanee (Ga.) North Gwinnett who officially visited UF for the Kentucky game, was blown away by Harris in 2013 when his team shutout Georgia powerhouse Norcross, 55-0.

“He’s a fun player to watch,” Imatorbhebhe said. “He’s a winner. He’s a gamer. He’s so dynamic. He has the playmaking qualities that not just me but people across the country want to see for the future.”

Yup, would be really bad if this sticks. Its probably a good thing that this is getting put on the front burner. If its untrue or resolvable then hopefully that gets realized early on, in plenty of time for the recruits to still sign with UF. And if its true, at least we find out early enough to try to sway them that Grier can get it done.

Im not cashing in on Jones yet either but Saturday was a failed test.
UF has a below average D by their standards and an inept offense with no play makers. UT fielded more than enough talent to win and didn't pull it off.

UF fans know what good football looks like no different than any Vol fan over 30 years old. The reaction of both bases after that game says all you need to know. Neither team is very good. UF just happens to be better than UT when they meet.

For the ever loving life of me, I can't understand this thought process from a UT fan. Four in a row. FOUR in a ROW!

Im cool with no one referring to it as a rivalry until UT decides to make it one again.

And getting pissed and chanting "f$#& you Florida" doesn't make it better.

I just think it is the height of stupid to say you want a coach of an opposing team to stick around longer when said coach is undefeated against you.

Not only is it dumb, but it is softball fodder for UF fans on here. JMO, but we need to STFU about Muschamp.

Totally agree. The UT-UF game has not been a rivalry in the truest sense for a long time.

If we had beaten UF the last four years then it would be prudent yo say keep Muschamp. However like you said that's not the case.

And he did that against Dooley and the dumpster fire that Dooley left for Jones. Color me unimpressed. If you think Muschamp is that great, then you're going to be sorely disappointed in his future returns. I only hope that he stays at Fla long enough to see Jones even the score. If Jones keeps recruiting like he has in the last two years then you won't have a JV squad getting manhandled on the offensive line anymore.

2-0 then

If after Sat you don't think he has our number you're crazy. After what we did at UGA this should have been a run away win. Dude owned us and got in our heads and to believe otherwise is foolish optimism that was plastered all over this board for the entire week leading up to this game.

I honestly don't like it and I hate being this way but it is the simple truth. Until CBJ does
it, I'm simply can't in good honesty believe it.

Flame away.

He's in year 4 in which he played Dooley in the first 2 years and a rebuilding Jones the last 2 years. I'm sorry you can't discern between who has the better talent and the situations at each school. Again, let's see where Jones is in 2 years and where Muschamp is employed. Maybe you can become Muschamp's agent since you seem so smitten with him. Then let's see you find him a job when he gets fired.

He did it against UT this year with the worst team Ive seen them field since Ive have been old enough to remember anything about UF football.

He's not gonna remain at UF because he sucks and they have a higher standard.

Exactly. We've had a chance to beat Fla the last two years while we've been rebuilding. We had injuries and stunk last year and they did too. We are both average at best this year. Fla took advantage of our main weakness and that was the difference in the game. We took advantage of their weakness but failed to capitalize on the turnovers and get tds instead of field goals. Now if Fla replaces Muschamp it'll be harder to beat them in coming years. If he can hang on, we'll beat him and pass them by. I hope Foley is too patient.

UF is no better this year than last. If anything their defense which is their strength is a step behind last years group. UT is better on both sides of the ball even with the OL being porous.

UF gained the advantage Saturday when UTs staff forgot what their advantage was. A 2 score lead with a defense that was shutting out an inept UF offense.

I don't expect patient from UF. It would be akin to UT keeping Dooley for a 4th season.

Yes, but we gave them the ball at our 30. Even an inept offense will mount a drive once a half. Then they bring in a backup QB and no matter who is coaching at UT we seem to go brain dead.

Fla was horrible after all their injuries last year. They're average right now. With their QB suspended, Driskell is going to be the QB. It's going to get interesting. UT missed a golden chance no doubt. They need to start winning some of those games.

More or less.

We gave them the football on a play that we didn't need to run. Hopefully the staff figured some things out after that foul up. Understanding how the game is playing out is sometimes more important that what you have or don't have on the field to play with.

This is willful ignorance to what I'm saying.

Muschamp is 4-0 against UT, 2-0 against CBJ. Nothing you say or misconstrue on my part is going to change that. He just came into Neyland with arguably the worst team he has ever had and stole a victory.

When he gets fired, it will be because UF doesn't tolerate mediocrity and find solace in the excuse game. It won't be because he couldn't beat UT. That is where our fanbase is being ridiculous. The lets hope he gets an extension crowd is failing to recognize that there is absolutely nothing based on actual game field performance that he will ever lose to UT. It is based on conjecture and hope that we will be better "next year". The facts say otherwise. He beats UT. Period.

Call me a negavol or whatever you if it makes you feel better. The facts are clear.

Hard to argue with any of that. UT should have won the game and didn't.
