Best football player this year and it's not even close! If he does not win and award for it that is a joke! Best football player this year period!

The last time an Alabama running back won the Heisman, a white Stanford running back finished runner up. Deju vu all over again.

And that white running back from Stanford should of won it that year as well. Funny.

The Heisman is for the best player in college football. This McCaffery guy sure seems to meet that criteria.

The guy breaks the national all purpose yard record and Henry breaks a conference record... McCaffery is a do it all player and Henry is a RB. I think Henry wins because ESPN is all over Bama's nuts these days, kinda like USC back in the Pete Carrol days

According to the radio today some big media guy said that McCaffery will not win the heisman specifically because he is a white rb and that degrades how people view him and what he has done.

I honestly don't care if Bama players win individual awards.

But watching some rival fans get so uptight about it makes me kinda hope it happens (though only a few of those fans are on here). There's only one game for the next 9 days and I need something else to keep me entertained.

Mike Wilbon was discussing that on Pardon the Interruptuion a few days ago. Interesting hearing that from a black guy.

McCaffrey Games:13 Attempts: 319 Rushing Yards:1847 Average: 5.8 TDs: 8

Henry: Games: 13 Attempts: 339 Rushing Yards: 1986 Average: 5.9 TDs: 23

except for TDs there is not much separating the two as running backs, if you throw in everything else McCaffrey does its clear he should win.

Imagine if a big media guy said A black QB wouldn't win the Heisman cause they're black... You'd have to call the damn Army to keep Rev Jesse and Rev Al away and the guy would be fired.

McCaffrey should run away with this award. Because he is a white running back which is widely considered a black guys position he doesn't get the respect he deserves. His season is on par with Barry sanders. Imo this kid is by far the best college football player. I just hope he wins. With that being said, anyone one of those three players should win it, and deserve it, so it wouldn't be a sham if someone else wins because they all did amazing.

You mean like Luke Staley winning the Doak Walker?

Hahahaha yes. Ingram (honestly not saying it because he's a Bama player) is quite possibly the worst Heisman winner of all time. And I'm not uptight about it. Simple facts.

If you are seriously going to argue that Tebow was anything more than a polite invitee in '09, or that his season was anything near Ingram's, you are either incredibly biased or an idiot.

You can make a solid case for Gerhart, McCoy, or Suh over Ingram. You absolutely cannot for Tebow.

Do TDs matter though? I think to a certain extent they do. They certainly can be a little misguiding, since certain backs aren't power guys or used more at the goal line. I do think you should count his receiving touchdowns and kick return touchdown as well. That would put it at 23 to 13. Heck, add his two passing touchdowns and its 23 to 15.

Gerhart and Ingram were 2 & 3 in the NCAA in yards from scrimmage. Ingram had two backups who combined for almost 1100 yards and 10 TD's, Gerhart's two back ups ran for 600 yards and 4 TD's. Ingram had 72 less carries than Gerhart (2-3 games worth). If Ingram got the load Gerhart did, his stats likely blow him out of the water. He also had 300+ receiving yards and 3 TD's.
