So when was the last time the #1 ranked team in the playoffs was an 8 point underdog

We were the underdog in the Fiesta Bowl in 98 too. I ain’t skeered.

Yeah but I doubt it was by this margin? 8 points is a lot.

I was asking around and the closest example people could find was Notre Dame vs. Alabama in 2012. Notre Dame was a 9 point underdog.

In ‘98-‘99 Fiesta Bowl, we were a 5 point underdog.

That is true. It probably was in +3 range.

You could take this exact team we have and put them in Alabama uniforms and this line is probably around 3.

If Ohio State was ever ranked # 1, they would be a double digit underdog to most anyone from the SEC

I know I sure don't because I don't gamble. Out of curiosity, how does it all work?
They create a market with the intention of encouraging equal bets on both sides. As bets are placed the line “moves” in order to maintain that balance. The betting market believes this game is 8 points in Georgia’s favor.

In 2001, #4 UT was a 17 underdog to #2 Florida.

One of my favorite games.

Made the Ole Ball Sack so mad, he quit the team.

Turns out, quiting is one of the things he does best.

The 'Ole Quitter Ball Sack' = Steve Francis Spurrier

and the guys who set the rankings were well aware that this game was on the schedule this week! And up till now Tennessee had the advantage because of performance THIS year. That ranking means nothing after the game today is played! And the winner will move to number one and rightly so!

Beware the 1/2 point added to the spread....I collected a lot of cash from chumps that lost to the 1/2 point added to the spread...It prevents ties, but it can bust your gambling a$$.

Betting has to be going insane by now.....The line will most likely tighten up some before kickoff...
