So when was the last time the #1 ranked team in the playoffs was an 8 point underdog

Defending national champs, playing at home against a team that, while very good this season, hasn't proven anything yet. If we were Alabama
and all else was the same, the line would probably be 3 or 3.5.

Hasn't proven "anything"? I guess being Alabama is better than beating Alabama. 🤷

Two other factors is 1) how many times GA uses the Fake Injury Outlet & 2) Muschamp is notorious for telling his players to PI vs allowing a long strike.
I hope that the Refs are watching for 2)

I don't think the fake injuries even matter at this point. I say let them fake it all day long. This offense can play slow or fast.

If Ohio State was ever ranked # 1, they would be a double digit underdog to most anyone from the SEC
No they wouldn’t. They would lose by double digits to us, Bama or UGA but the line would be less.

Every team chooses PI over a long completion. I hate this rule. It should be possession at the spot of the foul, not 15 yards.

In reality, no one is expecting us to win this game. To be fair, we are in the home stadium of the defending champion, very little teams would be favored in this circumstance.
Favored No Way. But a 2 score 8.5 to 9 point line as an underdog is just not right. 3.5 to 6.5 would be realistic and what one should would expect.

the people that set the odds and people that vote in polls are two different sets with two different agendas. Its not that difficult to understand. One votes with heart, one with wallet

Did someone leave the Mason-Dixon door open? gheez........
It was just a false statement. I corrected it.
Look at the examples posted here above .
Teams not #1 but favorites. Bama, Florida, Georgia, and etc.
Big Brand names always get the Brand bump.
Ohio st is a Big Brand
