So when we fire Pearl who should we hire?

Haha!!!! Bring some posts up bro. Back that up. You know what's funny? You can't. That's one of the most idiotic things I've ever read on here SMDH

They are on here. The screen names have changed, but the message is still the same.

I'm in the same boat of firing him, but only of he misses the tourney. But idk about how if feel about getting CBP back...

Guys, the AD is only worried about money right now because of our buyouts that are worse than food stamps and unemployment. Hart should know that a new coach not named Bruce will have to get money into the program by winning. People, particularly students and fans with young kids, just want to see winning because they don't know the new coach and winning is the only way to win those fans over. Then you have Brucey Boy. Proven winner, student fan base would immediately be back to games stacking the section deep. You're younger fans would love him and older folks would know what he brings to the table. I think its past the point of that we can't hire Bruce back because of his transgressions. I say that because look at Miami. Are you really gonna give a school flack and be under watchdog for lying over a BBQ and not have a school on the death penalty for recruits and millions of dollars of money changing hands? I would call their bluff.

Bruce would automatically inject lost revenue into the program just because of his social side to the fan base and he would inherit a deep team. If we fire Martin, we can't take anyone but Bruce because he is an instant winner and he would be cheap.

I supported Pearl until the day he got fired and I said I'd support CCM unless he doesn't make the tourney this year. If you really want me to be honest if I had the choice today I would trade Pearl for Martin today in a heart beat. But I'm a realist and know it isn't going to happen, so I'm not going to keep talking about it every single post like these other idiots. So I'm going to support CCM and hope he can develop into the coach we need. Because trust me our program doesn't need another coaching change!

Lol. What Twain said is so true. It is easier to fool someone than to get someone to admit that they have been fooled. lmao

Not sure what he said that can't be proven. But he said he would be in favor of firing Martin if he failed to make the tourney. It is absolutely asinine that everyone has to be labeled something and that if you support the coach and take a wait and see approach, then you must be a Martin lover. He does happen to be the coach at my alma mater, and even though he may have some deficiencies, I am still rooting for him to win. It is just downright silly the things that are stated on this site.

It's the old sunshine pumpers versus negavols silliness.

The pumpers were hard at work for Dools until it got so obvious that he had to go. Then they acted all surprised about it not working out. Misguided loyalty. Love the team. They are the ones that are going to classes and will stay involved with their alma mater after their time on the hill passes.

Any coach they hire is making a financial killing with 7 figure compensation annually. He wouldn't be here without the money. We just want him to improve so the team, the players, can improve. Here's hoping that Zo can get his act together and get this team to the dance. If he doesn't with this experienced and quality of roster it is time for him to go. But he has the whole season ahead to get it done.

Pearl haters, take a good look at this page and let it sink in

Jerry Green: 4 years/4 dances
Bruce Pearl: 6 years/6 dances

Everybody else starting with Wade Houston: Many years/0 dances.

Zo either joins Jerry and Bruce or he goes away like the others. Zo should pay close attention to the next comments.

Please note the style of play the winners chose. Please note the attendance records at TBA. Please note that Bruce Pearl is still available and loves UT.

It's up to Zo.

I'm with you. The end of this season will provide enough data so that informed decisions can be made one way or another.

Zo is done, no way we make the tourney this year. We will go a pathetic 11-7 in SEC play and lose in the first round of the SEC tournament. You have no chance when you shoot around 50% from the line. God awful basketball.

I don't think there are really Pearl haters. I loved Pearl. Everyone just realizes we aren't going to get him back. That 07-08 was my favorite year and there is no way we should have lost to Louisville that bad. I thought we were going to win it all that year but that bracket was stacked and we shouldn't have had to play Louisville in the sweet 16.

**** fulmer no one should want the fat pumpkin back

Oh boy, another keyboard big shot who has the mental capacity of an elementary school child who has to call people names. The man got you the only national championship in your lifetime, yet you try to defecate on him. Back to the entitled mindset that so many of our fans have, even though they haven't done crap for the program/university but buy tickets. Get over yourself.

And that's a problem. The man gave his all for this university, more than you can ever say, and you say he didn't do anything. And there's a saying that great coaches surround themselves with great assistants. So what? Think Saban would be this good if he had Clawson as his OC?

No I don't and did I say he didn't do anything? I said he never did anything with out Cut. How many sec championships did the man win with out Cut? How many NCs did the man win with out Cut?

Edit: I guess 1 NC cause Randy Sanders coached the NC game

He had three 10 win seasons, a 9 win and two 8 wins with Sanders at the helm. That's 6 out of 7 years with 8+ wins. Considering we've won 7 at best in the 5 years since, that's pretty good.

You should want more from the football program than that IMO. We are Tennessee! We should be like Alabama

If it could/would happen, great. But there are two problems with that.

1.) We went 47 years without a national championship. Those that argue we have always been a national power are wrong because that right there is not a national power.

2.) We don't appreciate what we have. We fired the one coach that won a NC, got entitled/greedy and now we are in this position. And even if he won another, we would sound like Bama has this year and call him a failure for going 11-1. That's not failure.

And to bring it back to basketball, the exact same thing applies. Martin has not done a bad job. It just hasn't been as good as the loudmouths have seen in a few years. Do I want him to win a few more of the big games? Absolutely. But I'm not making myself look like a fool calling him names, "yelling" at him on a message board, etc just because he lost a game. It's pathetic no matter who does it. This fanbase cannot handle success.

Where did I say that? I simply said that it isn't that bad and those that are wanting to jump off a cliff need to get their heads on straight. Saban won 3 of 4 national championships, went 11-1 this year, and is being called a failure. How is that right? It isn't by any means. Our fanbase will be exponentially worse than that. We burned mattresses for a 7-6 coach brought sanctions on us. I used to think Tennesseeans were smarter than they let on or stereotyped, but I guess not.

Mediocrity is in the eye of the beholder. When this university has been to ONE Elite 8 in its entire history, using that one round as the standard is asinine.

Lol I'm not talking about the basketvols. I like Martin and hope he succeeds. I do think he may not make it here, but that's yet to be seen. As in football TBH I just want to ****ing win
