So, who are you going to pull

Rather see the Mad Hatter win it than St. Saban. He lost 3 games last year. It would be sweet to see him lose 3 again.

John "Chief" Chavis and LSU.
LOL @ everyone who said Coach Chavis can't coach while DC for Tennessee...

He did a great job stopping teams on 3rd & 4th down when it mattered like in 2008 vs UCLa and their 3rd string JUCO QB.

GOON SQUAD

to the OP it's LSU.

Pulling for the S.E.C. but if "O Bama" plays LSwho, I will root for LSwho. Is it likely that LSwho will be able to beat the same team twice in one season????

Are you that intellectually challenged (a.k.a. dumb ass) to think a Vol fan would EVER pull for Alabama?

Chavis never coached them up. His UT defenses were very average year in and year out.

He gets one of the two best defensive units in the nation (both of which are in their own stratosphere) and he has the 2nd best defense.

LSU winning the title won't make anybody with a lick of sense think higher of Chavis.

That said, Go LSU.

You ARE joking, right? If not, you're certainly entitled to your opinion no matter how delusional.

Coach Chavis' defenses were consistently rated in the top tier (Top 3-4) of the SEC and in 2008, his last season as a Vol, 4th nationally.

"Chavis was named the recipient of the coveted American Football Coaches Association Assistant Coach of the Year honor in 2006."

I always figured this is the best way to put it: Give Chavis a tenderloin and he will give you a filet mignon. Give him a cut of shank and he can't make a stew.

We did have a solid defense in '08, but that was preceded by numerous subpar years.

And it's not delusional, I can point you to any number of stats and records that show his defenses were mediocre at best most of his time at UT.

The number of people coming out of the woodwork pointing to LSU's defense this year as a vindication of Chief has been crazy, but not surprising. He has a dozen+ NFL-ready defenders. He can call defensive schemes off Tecmo Bowl and still win.
