You would think that these kids would have learned some composure along the way. Whether you are right or wrong, sometimes the best course of action is to sit down and shut up. If you are dealing with a cop your best bet is to do just that.

"According to the Associated Press, linebacker A.J. Johnson and defensive lineman Danny O'Brien were both arrested and taken into custody late Saturday. Johnson was charged with purchasing alcohol for a person underage and resisting arrest, while O'Brien was charged with criminal impersonation, resisting arrest and underage consumption of alcohol."

Doesn't say whether he was impersonating Bernie Madoff or Jerry Sandusky.

Pretty sure that's the technical term for trying pass a fake ID off on an officer. Dumb idea.

If you identify yourself as someone you are not in an attempt to keep from getting into trouble then that is criminal impersonation. Don't have to have id just simply saying you are someone you are not trying to keep from being arrested.

Resisting arrest is in the eye of the "badge"holder. It can be as simple as asking "why am I being arrested?" to as serious as running like a deer and fighting. There used to be a cop in Claiborne County who would cuff people for minor traffic violations and then when they asked why they were being cuffed he would beat the crap out of them and take them to jail for resisting arrest. He is probably now on payroll at the KPD. He would fit in there.

Ain't that the truth!! No use for or respect for anyone at KPD. I've never observed a group of people who are so disrespectful to the public

He gave them a fake id. I hope all this blows over. I think they have learned their lesson!

Anyone have an idea on how CBJ has handled these type situations during his previous coaching jobs? Hopefully this will all blow over soon.

So our team tries to bond by having a party and some douche bag cop decides it's a good idea to break it up....

Sounds to me like a several young men still have some growing up to do. Self discipline and poise ARE, in part, attributes of a winning attitude. Too bad they didn't understand the need to comply with the first request to tone it down a notch. It could be that they will now learn a life lesson that will serve well in the future. Always a silver lining, I suppose. This little fiasco could have easily been avoided.

So very true that some on ego trips use any word or movement to charge resisting arrest. Most police officials are dedicated, hard working professionals, but there are over zealous individuals in all walks of society.

A comedian once gave great advice. He said, "don't sweat the petty things, and don't pet the sweaty things". Words to live by in my book. This is only a problem if it becomes a habit for our players drinking and becoming disorderly. But boys will be boys in college. Drinking, fighting, chasing women, etc was the norm when I went to college. I think that happened when Plato went to Socrates school as well. I seem to recall Plato drinking too much and smacking Aristotle over an argument, but you won't see it in the history books. Socrates covered it up.
