So why is loud music, beer and arguing

A comedian once gave great advice. He said, "don't sweat the petty things, and don't pet the sweaty things". Words to live by in my book. This is only a problem if it becomes a habit for our players drinking and becoming disorderly. But boys will be boys in college. Drinking, fighting, chasing women, etc was the norm when I went to college. I think that happened when Plato went to Socrates school as well. I seem to recall Plato drinking too much and smacking Aristotle over an argument, but you won't see it in the history books. Socrates covered it up.

You are being pretty high tone for many on here with your references. But it is LOL IMO.:hi:

You frequent vols sites, talk to other vols fans, and your ears perk up when you hear the word "Tennessee" on ESPN. IMO this story is getting next to no national attention, and by the time we are watching the spring game it will have been forgotten.

According to a poster on VQ who apparently had a daughter at the party, a couple got into a fight and the drunk girlfriend dissed her boyfriend who then swept her legs and knocked her down. He began kicking her while she was on the ground, so AJ, Sapp, and O'Brien tossed him out. This was right as the cops who showed up for the noise violation were leaving and not wanting a bigger fight to break out, they went to break it up. At some point, likely after ID'ing everyone and determining the underage and fake ID charges for O'Brien, they were arresting Sapp and AJ "grabbed" the arresting officer's shoulder.

Not a big story, IMO. Think it could've easily been a lot worse.

If that is true, it sounds like the cops should have investigated the situation a little better and maybe the turn out could have been better. You should never touch the cop. But it sounds like they were getting rid of a buzz kill at the party. I guess the guy that was beating up the girl walked! Which is almost always how it turned out at my frat parties back in the day. The one trying to control the situation got in trouble.
Not a big story, IMO. Think it could've easily been a lot worse.
peace out.

getting more negative pub than oh lets say a seriously sick and brutally criminal case on a campus located in the mid state? Serious question....

Because it's the Tennessee Football, and that is a national brand. The Vols are a premiere college football program that has a national impact. Outside of Nashville no one is interested in what Vanderbilt does.
