What a cluster ****. Could they not put duct tape over the front number or sew something over it until the correct jersey gets here? Did we not bring this to the attention of the umps and opposing team before the game and get a ruling?

They were told last week in Arizona that it was not an issue, the number on the back was the only thing that mattered because that is the only place the rule book requires that a number be placed. Obviously this set of umpires decided differently.

Phillips is pretty fast. Not going to run track in the offseason, but she’s not a “turtle” by any means. Might PR for her when the game is on the line, but not a smart move to do it early in the game.

Turner just was wore out in the end. I was just watching it. The long delay on the number issue didn’t help. We needed that one. Really impressed with Turner being a freshman she is the calmest one on the infield.
