Some of our fans suck

OK, maybe that was a bit harsh, but still. We all appreciate long time donors and fans. But I am there to support my my school and I do it with alot of enthusiasm. Don't complain about me making noise and standing up, minding my own business.

This thread just goes hand-in-hand with the "costed" thread in here too.

I wasn't complaining about enthusiastic fans. I'm glad we have 'em!

I was trying to point out to the people complaining about "blue hairs" and big money donors that we need those fans just as much as we need the lively ones. Cheer all you want, but don't knock a fellow Vol fan that's not cheering up to your standards. There's more to being a fan than painting your body orange and screaming an entire game. Quite frankly, there's more to life than the "here and now", which is what us young folks seem to forget. (Yes, I'm including myself in the young folks since I haven't reached 30 just yet  )

Go Vols - Beat those Dores!!! :cheer:

Maybe if they'd reconfigure those supid ramps at Neyland, or just slap a few large size elevators on each side of the stadium, us old people would not be so worn out by the time they reach their seats.

I agree completely!! It's just around the corner for me (June), and I only mentioned it b/c I didn't want anyone reading my post to think it was just one of the old fogies they're griping about, giving an old fogey lecture.

Hey man, wasn't trying to offend you. I know it's the old money that makes the world go 'round. ;)

Unfortunately, most of us younger folks associate the blue hairs with old, uptight, arnory folks.

Now I don't expect everyone to lose their voice every other night, but when it's time to make some noise, it is your choice to do it or not. But don't look at me funny and then leave 5 minutes before the game is over to beat the traffic in a close game. That's all I'm saying.

No offense taken.

And I can assure you I would never leave early to avoid traffic, but there are always gonna be fans that do - no matter the school or event. There's nothing you can do about, so I figure it's just a waste of my time worrying about what other fans do. In fact, I bet some of the 'blue hairs' wish they'd spent a little less time bemoaning every little thing when they were younger...they might not have reached 'blue hair' status yet if they did! :biggrin2:

This is not a shot at most of the people here. I know you guys come to support your team, not sit in your seat with your thumb up your butt. For those that do, hear this...DO NOT BUY TICKETS ANYMORE.

If you're gonna spend money to come to the game, please act like you are alive. Make some noise, try to get your boys pumped up. They are not always going to energize you.

And for those who donate, spend a bunch of money, and do not show up to the games (there was not 22K there, I don't care what the official attendance says), please, go waste your money somewhere else. This coach and team deserves better. The crowd yesterday was pitiful, just like many crowds at football games.

BTW, why go to the game, and leave with 5 minutes to go? Are we to the point now where we are already complacent, and if they don;t play well, it's time to go?

Some people are just pathetic...I just don't get it.
Some idiot wanted to leave at half time Wednsday night....we had to go out and move our car right when the game decided to pick up....I agree if people aren't going to support the boys they need to not buy tickets
