Not clicking on something called Cockytalk for fear of my wife using my phone and asking me some less than pleasant questions

Reminds me...I need a trusted friend to break into my house and delete the FANTASY HOCKEY LEAGUE on my laptop...in the event of my untimely passing :)

Fan rating based on my experiences only. cannot rate Tennessee but I have been to enough home games to know and have never seen or experienced anything close at Neyland to some of the things I have witnessed at these football games away ..basketball is different.

1. Florida
2 Georgia
3. Auburn
4. Vandy
5. Alabama
6. Arkansas
7. LSU
8. Mississippi
9. Mississippi State
10. Kentucky
11. South Carolina
12. Tennessee

Of course some depends on the rivalry for example GA fans and Auburn Fans or Florida fans don't mix well at all. Like a powder keg.

Vandy fans always have been and always will be trash. For such a haughty and austere school they certainly have some mongoloids for fans.

I seem to remember their contingent cheering while Travis Henry lay motionless in the end zone about a decade ago.

We were sitting next to some of Widenhofer's family that game. Even they hated Vandy fans when they were cheering.

I will never forget that. Its easy to hate Vandy now, but I always pointed to that when people would ask why I hate them so much "when they're never any good".

I have been to Columbia twice and been treated well both times. Easiest venue to get in and out of after a game. They do a great job with traffic.

Been to most of the SEC venues and been treated reasonably well at all of them. Haven't been to LSU and won't go to Florida but the rest are OK. A lot of how you are treated comes down to how you act and/or react.

The worst school for opposing teams is LSU. They are nuts and throw things at you. We were bombarded by beer and all of the sudden there were batteries and rocks being thrown at us. Need a police escort there to get to and from the games.

Ga and Fla fans can not be in the same room during the WLOCP...... ever. Bammer and Aubie fans can not be in the same room either with the iron bowl rivalry.

One thing though that I can remember from travels is the fans in "The Grove" at Ole Miss. Those are some pretty cool people. They knew they were going to lose but they really threw some nice shindigs and were real nice to the opposing fans. Had some cocktails with some of them. It is not the Vol Navy as far as tradition but to them it means a lot.

I agree with you on the reaction part and my list is based on that. We have a few fans that don't travel well. A lot of it has to do with team records at the times and the media build up and who won the game in the aftermath.

Taking that into consideration, this list does... Florida well never be a game worth traveling to. Worst fans in the world. Ga is the same way as far as obnoxiousness goes. When we beat them in their house it gets worse.

Mississippi is all about the game. Never experience what you are talking about at LSU, but I can believe it. At Florida I saw a car burning in the parking lot with Tennessee tags on it after the game....it was like medieval times with the dregs of society.

I am a HUGE Vols fan living not only in SC, but Columbia! And not only that, but my husband and his entire family are diehard Gamecocks.

His take was that Knoxville was extremely friendly, gracious, and welcoming - down to the old men going over SC's better stats and the drunks offering him a Jack & Coke to drown his sorrows ;)

But seriously, everyone who sat around us was respectful (but loud!) and one very kind gentleman patted him on the back as he left and said, "I hope our town is treating you well, son." It couldn't have hurt that he had a girl decked out in orange on his arm ;)

Thanks, Knoxville! It was a blast and I'm already homesick again!

What is this a rating system for? Best fans? Best gameday?

Glad to hear our fans were respectful. I always try to be kind to visiting fans. It's just a game, and they are bringing MONEY into our city. Plus it's just the right thing to do.

I came across this thread when I was reading in the CockyTalk (USCjr's) Football Forum. Lots of positive comments about Knoxville, game atmosphere, and UT fans at the game. Nice to know that most Tennessee fans know how to win with class! Way to represent, Volnation! We will rise again!
