And this is exactly why the “committee” had no problem putting us on the road, rather than playing in Neyland.Sorry for the new post. These deserve to not get buried in a thread somewhere.
“Have never seen so many opposing fans in my 30 years of attending home games. This is insane. The stadium is going to be over 30% Tennessee based on what Columbus looks like right now”
“I’m seeing same thing. I own a bar downtown and have never seen anything like this. Been here since ‘85 and this is the first time an outright majority of clientele are opposing fans.”
“Really not sure what is going on or if anti-day fans sold tickets but at this point it’s not just rumors that Tennessee fans are here in huge numbers.”
“Seriously impressive how much orange is downtown right now, but also could be embarrassing for us if our home field has splotches of Orange for whole world to see in prime time”
I’m still rummaging through posts. The best part is I know of a ton of people waiting to leave tomorrow if they think tonight is alot of orange.
That’s the key. If we don’t bring consistent pressure, it may be a long night. Otherwise, I really like our chances. If Heup and Co. have gotten the boys worked up for this game and the planning has been on point, which I have no doubt that it has - could be in for a special night.Howard is an underrated running QB. As long as Banks brings the pressure, I think Howard will have issues making quick decisions.
Ohio State has pretty much broadcasted they are going to have rotating linemen on offense. We should bring the boom with them non stop
Correct. UT will need help to win this game. A lucky bounce or two . . . And a timely turnover.Very cool to see fans representing with pride.
However, the number of fans showing up or the number of bars we take over doesn’t add points to the scoreboard.
We better show up tonight ready to battle and take care of business.
Otherwise, at least 75% of the same fans will be calling for Heupel’s head tomorrow.
Not a single negative comment can ever be made about an opposing team or fanbase without a certain group dropping in and telling everyone that our team/fanbase is just as bad, if not worse at whatever said comment was directed at."If it's on the internet it's true"

I have no doubt an OSU fan posted on the internet that he saw a Tennessee fan spit tobacco on a Kroger floor. I don't believe it. Oh it's possible and under different circumstances I'd be inclined to believe it, but it just seems too convenient.
And for the jackleg Vol fans here that are embarrassed by the arrogance of our fanbase...

That's a really good comparison.BTW this wouldn't be a top 3 win in our history. We do have multiple titles that would easily be in front of this. Hell, I would still put 98' Florida and Arkansas ahead of this game because they lead to a natty. I think we would have to win the natty for this to even make our top 5
The truth hurts. Vols fans are humans, and as is well-known, humans gonna human. Not a single negative comment can ever be made about an opposing team or fanbase without a certain group dropping in and telling everyone that our team/fanbase is just as bad, if not worse at whatever said comment was directed at.
I like the fact that Banks is familiar with Day and his tendencies as a HC. I know he isn't calling the plays but he is the man in chargeHoward is an underrated running QB. As long as Banks brings the pressure, I think Howard will have issues making quick decisions.
