Somebody Get Tony Jones A Crying Towel.

Sounds like someone needs to get Hat a crying towel.
Only because I'm laughing so hard at all the Pearlophiles watching the beginning of the total evisceration of their deity's career that tears are welling up in my eyes.

I heard that Jones was blaming world wide wes and Nike for turning Selby's head. He seems to think if Selby was at an Adidas camp he would still be a Vol.

Losers always look for blame as to why they get beat on the recruiting trail.

Can't argue with that. With the head coach out of the country (sorta bad timing for that) it should be the job of his assistants to see to it that doesn't happen....

If Jones worked for anyone but Bruce Pearl, casting aspersions on other coaches without a modicum of evidence of wrongdoing would be a firable offense. Alas, that's one of the benefit of working for 'AA stoolpigeon.

The point is, you accuse Jones of 'casting aspersions on other coaches' when in fact, the comments I heard (and apparently hman also) were directed at Nike involvement.

Yeah, I'm sure none of what Jones was whining about has anything to do with John's relationship with WWWes.

I did enjoy the fact that they day after he decommitted his mother admitted to meeting WWW. I also find it funny that would happen, and UK would be named his leader after Cal said WWW would have nothing to do with the UK program as he had with Memphis.

I'm sure the Tennessee staff has nothing to do with the fact pretty much every article about Selby's change of heart mentions Oregon, Kentucky, Selby's mother, WWWes, John Calipari, and Kenny Payne. I'm sure that's just reporters doing their best Mike Wallace impersonations.

Maybe so, but Calipari was quoted as saying that "Worldwide Wes" is a "goodwill ambassador to the University of Memphis program."

So...

It's not like he's directly calling out Cal as you imply.

I'd say Selby will end up at Kentucky, but I still don't hear any quotes about Tony Jones accusing Cal of anything. Regardless of which side you are on, the whole process stinks, you know that as well as anyone. But it is what it is, and while I understand Jones frustration, I agree that making general accusations isn't going to change things.

Tony Jones should be the last person in America to decry the ethics of others.

Don't hate the players. It's not Cal's fault he is as plugged in as anyone has ever been in the recruiting game, while Pearl employs a bunch of second raters as his staff.

I don't hate the players. Don't really find the game all that nice, though.

Of course not. He doesn't have the stones for that.

Spin it however you want. You hack on Jones for casting unfounded aspersions, then you say he didn't because he doesn't have the stones. In the meantime you throw 'aspersions of ethics' at Jones -- what you criticized him for doing in the first place, all the while acting if there is nothing strange going on with Selby and WWWes.

I'm dizzy.
