Somebody turn Richt in

If we can't throw a little smoke in the air how can he get away with this?

The 18-year-old and his family were shown to Richt’s new office, overlooking the recently completed indoor practice facility. As they visited, the Crowells noticed activity down below. Players began filing onto the practice field.

“We got up and looked out,” said Debbie Crowell, Isaiah’s mother. “I didn’t know what was going on, but Isaiah could tell that they were getting into formation. And there wasn’t a tailback.”

The stage was set. Richt escorted the family down to the field. Crowell was handed a Georgia jersey — No. 1 on the back — and a helmet and asked if he wanted to take that empty spot in the backfield. Debbie Crowell remembers Richt painting the scene of next season’s opener against Boise State, asking her son if he could see himself in that jersey and helmet, behind that offensive line, starting his career in the din of the Georgia Dome.

“Yes, sir, I can,” Isaiah said.

“My baby was excited. He was ready to go,” Debbie said.

13.6.7.9 Activities. An institution may not arrange miscellaneous, personalized recruiting aids (e.g., personalized jerseys, personalized audio/video scoreboard presentations) and may not permit a prospective student-athlete to engage in any game-day simulations (e.g., running onto the field with the team during pre-game introductions) during an official visit. Personalized recruiting aids include any decorative items and special additions to any location the prospective student-athlete will visit (e.g., hotel room, locker room, coach’s office, conference room, arena) regardless of whether or not the items include the prospective student-athlete’s name or picture.

Dude. You typed a book. Go ahead and send it in to the NCAA. UGA fans would do the honorable thing and help us stay compliant ya know.

I heard that Ealey didn't show up to a punishment workout session. That is why he got suspended.

Washaun Ealey was not kicked off the team, he was suspended indefinitely. The kid has to get his act together. He's being lazy and didn't show up for a meeting. I hope he gets his act together, it would suck to lose him for next year.

ESPN is reporting that he didn't show up for a disciplinary run. Guess they were wrong.

The disciplinary run is only a small part of it. The coaches are trying to figure out what Ealey is going to do, it wouldn't surprise me if he leaves the team. Ealey seems to not want to put in the effort into the new things that UGA is trying to do. The kid has an entitlement attitude and the coaches are not having it.

IMO, coaches, not institutions, should be fined for secondary violations with progressively higher penalties. There should be a price but currently there isn't.

This sounds like a good idea. I'd prefer that the fines be the same salary %, so that the coach of Bama will be hit as hard as the coach of UAB. But, I don't know if the NCAA would be able to fine guys unless it was the same dollar amount for everybody. They don't have the same jurisdiction over coaches that the NFL has.

As much as I hate it... great tactic by Captain Underachiever. Now lets watch that douchebag squander his talent. GBO!

The whole scene reminds me of a cheesy pick-up line..."man are you tired Isaiah, cause you have been running through my mind all day."

Mods, delete this thread please.

Georgia, you need to keep CMR for many, many years to come.

You know the old saying, "They're not laughing at you, they're laughing WITH you?" Well, in this case we are all laughing AT you.

Explain how you would be laughing at me. I can understand a UF fan saying that to me, I'd have no argument against them. Last time I checked, Richt has done pretty well against everybody in the SEC except for UF.

Yes, yes, yes! I like this attitude. Richt is an elite coach. Absolute mastermind! If Georgia replaces him they become Georgia Tech the second. Absolutely!

No, not quite. We don't want to make decisions just out of emotions after a disappointing season. I want to make sure important decisions are made very carefully. You never know, we could end up going through 3 coaches in 3 consecutive years. Sorry but I don't want us to go that route.

We'll give Richt one more year. Hopefully he turns it around. If he doesn't, next year will be the appropriate time to look for a change.

Coach Richt is a straight arrow guy, I don't believe he would do anything to jepordize his program. If it is a secondary violation them I'm pretty sure he would report it. I personally don't see anything wrong with it. Now I do agree that if we did it, the NCAA would be all over us because everybody hates us lol.

Yes. Pleeeeeeeease do. And if he goes 6-7 again, give him another! And another! He deserves it!

Bravo.

It has to be some sort of violation. While I was still at UT they had some of the band come down and play for recruits. Apparently that was going to be a violation starting the next year.
