Someone said Shane Beamer reminds them of Butch Jones

Beamer is absolutely not "a decent coach" or even "an average coach". He's riding his dad's coattails until the money and patience of his benefactors runs out. He'll take the Butch route, rehabbing at Bama or some other place, then take a lower profile job where he may win nine to ten games every few years if everything falls into place and the planets align. I swear, I don't understand how anyone can think this guy is anything other than a clown. Just a sideshow taking attention from the adults in the SEC. That said, I hope he's at SC forever. I love watching him lose.

Even butch Jones beat the ole ball coach his first 2 years. It was more than the OBC could bear so he quit rather than face the mortarless laying brick mason sage of football again.

If they go 5-7 4-8 this year it'll be his death sentence. His class will fall apart and top players will enter the portal.

FYP...sorry but couldn't help myself.

Why must I repeat this so often… Dobbs went 8-4 with a Bowl victory in 2015 & 2016. Without Dobbs, Jones helmed Tennessee to 4-8, 0-8. 0 for the SEC. [technically 4-6, 0-6; he was fired 10 games into the 2017 season]

Last season alone showed him to be better than Dooley.
Dooley was godawful. 4-23 in SEC games, with wins against vandyx2, UK, and Ole Miss in a year they went 2-10. And one of the vandy wins was in OT!

Had a losing season at LaTech the year we hired him at UT, and was 17-20 overall there. In 2008, the season before we hired him, he was 4-8.

FOUR AND MOTHER ****ING EIGHT!

On what planet do you hire a coach who just went 4-8 in the Sun Belt to be the HC at the University of Tennessee?

Hamilton was truly a ****ing moron. 🤬

Beamer is a better coach than those, two, and you also can add Dooley.
Ha! No he’s in the same caliber. I’ve said it since he got hired, the dude is Butch 2.0. The gimmicks, the recruiting, the casting of blame on everyone but himself, and the fact he does nothing on the field to prove his a high caliber coach, all add up to Butch Jones. He’s a clown.

I think jury is still out. USCjr is not ever going to be a perennial winner. But he has them competitive. It's kind of like the Vandy job, if you can make them consistently competitive in the league, you're probably going to move up, like James Franklin. Hate to admit it, but I agree with the poster who said he'd be good at a place like UF. I could see him being on aTm's list if they can Jimbo.

Hahahaha

Shane Beamer to A&M...hahahaha

They are kind of weird in their traditions but i am fairly sure hiring him will not be tolerated by that fanbase.

If A&M moves on from Jimbo, they are going to be going after far bigger game than Beamer.

You don't pay out roughly $70 million so your program can turn a corner and then hire Shane Beamer.

Beamer is at best a poor man's Lane Kiffin.

I'm not so sure Beamer gets another P5 shot after SC cuts the cord after this season or the next. He's gonna have to step down to the G5 at best and make quite a bit of noise to get another shot.

He's 2-4 right now with another 3 or 4 likely losses still ahead. He went 8-5 in his best season thus far, exactly matching Jeremy Pruitt's best mark, and one step below Butch Jones' two 9-win seasons.

So there's little objective evidence that you're right.

On Dooley, though, I absolutely agree.
Beamer has back to back wins over top 10 opponents. He also smoked UF by 23 points in year one. Things neither Botch nor Gump ever came close to doing. Beamer is infinitely better.

Nah. Harder to do at USCjr and last season alone puts Beamer ahead of Butch. I don’t think he’s good but he’s more competent than those 3 clowns we hired.

Another coach that makes me thankful to almighty God that we have Josh rather than some numbnuts like Beamer.

USC needs to get to the point were they are winning at least 8 games a year and 2/3rds of their SEC games. Unlike Tennessee they are the second best team in their state.
