Souce's Coffee Discussion Thread

@NEVolFan Kona is often described as “medium-bodied, fairly acidy, with some subtle winey tones, very richly flavored and overwhelmingly aromatic when fresh.” Colombian Supremo is moderate in acidity and sweetness and moderate to full in body - it should make for a good blending partner to Kona. Two others to consider are Kenya AA and Indian Monsoon coffee. Kenya AA is mellow, medium-bodied, and may have citrus notes. Indian Monsoon coffee is described as “pronounced body, low acidity and subtle spicy notes.”

Just received 5 lbs of Kona coffee beans... this time around, I am going to experiment with blending to see if I can get a good tasting blend that extends the supply of the beans. The Kona beans make a great cup of coffee, but the last time around I went through the beans too quickly. One recipe I will try is to blend at 50% each Kona with Colombian Suprema. Seems like this may be a good starting point based on a reference I found.

Will update once I give it a whirl.
I really like Kona.

Just hit Costco for some Columian Supremo, will test.

Here's where things get weird, I don't drink coffee! Or sweet tea!

Dealing with Lyme I cannot drink either though my herbal doctor has encouraged me to drink it from the other end.

I can’t drink any sodas BUT for some odd reason I can drink Diet MD for energy. It’s the only thing that doesn’t set my bladder on fire.

You mean they want you to butt chug coffee and tea?

Not tea but yes... he wants me to do a coffee enema(sp?)

My wife always jokingly encourages me with “the best part of waking up, is Folgers in your butt”.

Apparently, coffee enema’s were very popular in hospitals years ago.

Red has made huge strides in her recovery.
Still has some bad days but is doing much better.
I tell you that to tell you this.
The coffee enema’s definitely help in eliminating the toxins from your system after a big die off.

Things that I don’t understand, but there you are:

In liver failure, it’s quite common to have acute mental issues (confusion, etc.), called hepatic encephalopathy (brain inflammation etc caused by liver issues.) When the liver fails, ammonia builds up in the bloodstream and causes confusion. It’s very common to give hepatic encephalopathy patients a drug called lactulose, which pretty much makes you crap your brains out, no pun intended. Lotsa poop tends to clear the brain. 1559271601745.gif

I am baffled how stool that is already in the colon and therefore mostly out of circulation can still influence brain function, and yet it does, as demonstrated by the improvement in cognition after lactulose does its thing.

And I have observed (anecdotally, of course), that a good crap has been known to dial back a hangover.

So although speaking as someone who has successfully avoided any flavor of enema at all for 64 years and nearly six months, I’ve gotta say that if people report success with coffee (and other) enemas, I’m not throwing any stones.

I like your wife’s sense of humor, I always find it helpful when in need of a morale boost. 🙂

The wife has done it to get me to try and she thinks it takes a lot of pain away and adds energy. Just not sure it’s for me.

Now I do take very hot hydrogen peroxide baths (3 bottles) until my temperature gets up to 102 for about 5 mins. This process can cause me to herx but it seems to give me some really goods days after the night headache (which can be severe).

I’m telling you.
The herx almost goes away completely with the foldgers in reverse. It also seems to extend the good days.
Do you alternate ice bath with the hot bath?
