1. I know we have a wildcat. Not sure why we haven't seen it yet. Who would you like to see run it?

2. We tried a fake field goal today before the penalty. Does that count? :)

3. I think I've seen some progress with AJ. Agree or disagree?

4. Pretty sure we blitzed quite a bit today, did we not? I haven't watched the replay.

5. I don't know. It will take more than one miscue before I really have an issue with it.

1) I think Dallas would be a good choice.

2) No, but loved the call. Just have to execute it.

3) AJ is a baller, no doubt. But we have to move him around more to confuse offenses.

4) Just tired of seeing 3rd and 15 look so easy for opposing teams to get.

5) Every time we punt i find myself cringing in fear. One of those guys misses a block and its 6 for the other team. One blocker almost got blocked right into the kicker today.

Honestly I'm a little surprised we haven't seen the Wildcat at all.

I am to and I thought we would see a change of pace early in the third with a big lead even if it was just for a couple of plays. Would it be Pig or someone else. I bet Devrin would be a candidate if he were healthy.

After we got the punt blocked I started watching and a lot of teams are using that formation. I agree with you and do not like it.

I feel if we get trounced by UGA and Bama recruits might start to jump ship.

Why? They're choosing Tennessee because we suck and they can play right away. They're more likely to jump ship if we magically stop sucking.

No but I'll probably try to chart it this week, time permitting.

Anyway, I'll watch the replay tomorrow and I will be specifically looking at the formations. This team needs to run the ball out of run formations, use play action, and max protect when passing. The best way to "hide" a shakey QB is to run the ball. The best way to run the ball is with 2 TE's or with 1 TE and 1 FB. Not saying you don't understand this, just pointing out the obvious. If I see a bunch of 3 WR sets, I will have a major complaint. Worley or any other QB on this roster is not ready to run a pass first formation. #1 they can't make accurate throws under pressure and #2 the WR's can't get open! I have a feeling though that Butch is using mostly run formations and trying to "hide" the QB as much as possible.

1. Really? I don't really see him as a playmaker.

2. Agree

4. Agree

5. I'm cringing in fear a lot, but not usually on punts. :) But I can't say that I've really watched them very closely.

Im surprised people have a hard time understanding this.

To look as bad as we did more than a quarter of the way through the season is concerning to say the least.

I feel if we get trounced by UGA and Bama recruits might start to jump ship.

Alabama holds the SEC and National title, UGA is well up into the Top 25 in the entire nation, not just the SEC, and Oregon was #2 in the ENTIRE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

Let's get back to the point where we can guarantee consistent wins against Sun Belt teams and not have to worry about being ran over by the likes of Kentucky or Vanderbilt again.

Play calling is still vague. I'm not saying I disagree, but what specifically?

Play calling is WAY OVER RATED. The games about execution. Two cases in point today. Fake FG is great play call would have certainly gotten 1st down and likely a TD but false start ruined it - EXECUTION! Pig Howard wide open on 3rd and 6 on last offensive possession. Hit him in stride its 20 yard gain. Good play call Worley overthrows him by 5 feet. EXECUTION!

Just because S. Alabama has a 5 year head start doesn't mean we can't catch up with them eventually? Does It?

Yeah. I'm fresh out of tears

Why cry when you knew this was a down year. Our only "strength" was the OL. I just watch the games without emotion. An occasional silent fist pump when we score. I'm over having my weeks ruined over the outcome of a game. I'll save having my weeks ruined over a loss, for when we are expected to win. :)

There is game tape from 5 games that show our staff's ineptness in all its glory. There doesn't need to be a discussion on something that is so obvious. When you watch the film you notice the talent isn't all that good and the coaching, from play calling to scheme, isn't helping mask the talent gap nor is it taking advantage of the talent we do have. This staff seems to be a very mediocre staff and I would say on par with Dooley's 2nd year staff with Wilcox at DC.
stop the logic. These guys will never give in to the truth ! Fairy Vols worship who ever the coach is!

Ever notice how some posters speak of Vol fans as a group that they don't include themselves in?

Hey, we also had probably the greatest QB to ever play the game lose to Mempiss, with a team loaded with talent......

No but I'll probably try to chart it this week, time permitting.

Let me save you time. This is a passing offense that relies on an accurate and poised qb under pressure. Wr's must also be able to run great routes and beat one on one coverage. Not saying you cant run out of 3 wr sets but the defense will load the box and force the qb to throw to the hot to beat them and this qb and receivers can't do that. If we don't beat these pressure defenses our offense will continue to be inconsistent, and even shut down, by good talent in the front 7 of defenses.
