I’m sure we don’t win all those, but I’m also guessing we don’t lose all the others, I don’t think we are gonna win just 2-3 more games the rest of the way as you seem to be suggesting. So, you think he's right? See I asked what you thought. I went with the experts on MZ. We were wrong. so you agree with Bart?
2 so far. 40% and below 6. Combine that with more TOs than assists and you're flirting with disaster. Barnes' teams rebound the offensive glass, don't turn it over and play team ball which requires multiple assists. Don't know what that was yesterday but didn't look much like a Barnes coached team. Only thing that saved us was SC's FT shooting. How many games you actually think Tennessee will shoot 25%?
Not very many.

How does a guy with 33 years experience end up with a mess like you saw yesterday? Oh yeah. we had a dumpster fire 5 years ago.

I said we'd struggle to win 5. Not 2 or 3. I asked you to pic 6 and you're afraid to do it. Not much confidence? Teamrankings says we'll finish 18-13 also. i don't think we can without returning to team ball, and restoring some semblance of ball security. I had hoped Vescovi would help but bless his heart he cancels out the good he does with TOs and very few assists. Can he get it together by GA? Barnes is already chewin on him. How many minutes will he see if he keeps getting his pocket picked and passing to guys that aint lookin.I’m sure we don’t win all those, but I’m also guessing we don’t lose all the others, I don’t think we are gonna win just 2-3 more games the rest of the way as you seem to be suggesting.
A lot of minutes. We don’t have other guysI said we'd struggle to win 5. Not 2 or 3. I asked you to pic 6 and you're afraid to do it. Not much confidence? But when a guy has 33 year experience I don't think you can just say well he took a chance on Uros and the NCAA screwed him. or he just held on to Kent and Johnson too long cuz he's a nice guy or he spent a scholarship on a guy that can't play next year or he's recruited 3 guys in one class that won't contribute for 2 or 3 years. The guy's a program builder and been doing it over 30 years. How does he put something on the floor like you've seen more than once this season?Having one senior go into a shooting slump and another have a season ending injury. On top of that have what would have been your starting PG go to the NBA (somewhat unexpectedly).
Couple that with a player who would've logged serious minutes not gaining eligibility when all signs pointed towards him getting it.
That's how you get here. At the end of the day, the results fall onto Barnes, but not everything can be fixed with coaching, and some things you can't prepare for.
I am worried that this team will not be able to find 17 wins that will probably be needed to get to the NIT.
Really need to let Bowden be 6th man and think about starting Gaines or JJ in his spot.
You pullin for South Florida against mempiss?Maybe I am naive, but I think there is still potential this year with this team. Some in this thread are talking about what we have to do to get an NIT bid......forget that we still have a possibility of making the NCAA. We were a lock and not even on the bubble about two weeks ago. We are 3 games into an 18 game SEC schedule and still play at Kansas. The team will evolve and change drastically in 16 games, let's hope it is for the best and we are playing like an NCAA team by the end and do enough to get in.

Wait!!!! It's okay cuz look at next season. Tired a hearin that s####.
You comparin Barnes to Roy Williams. Williams earned his year off with Championships and F4s.Guess UNC should can Roy too huh? Also didn’t realize this season was over, but interesting to note you won’t be tuning in to anymore games. Quite the 180 you’ve done from this time a year ago on Barnes, what’s this the 3rd or 4th opinion flip on him? Is he back to riding off into the sunset??
So I said 18 you said 15, O/U 16.5? Absolutely. You comparin Barnes to Roy Williams. Williams earned his year off with Championships and F4s.
Barnes waits til he comes here to add a couple more losing seasons because he's in love with his projects.
You know we never even offered Juiston. we took Pember instead.
Hey I hope they win 18 regular season. Wanna bet?
You are VN ormally level-headed, and I share your frustration, but thus feel like irritation talking. You are being both a little unreasonable and a little dramatic about it.But when a guy has 33 year experience I don't think you can just say well he took a chance on Uros and the NCAA screwed him. or he just held on to Kent and Johnson too long cuz he's a nice guy or he spent a scholarship on a guy that can't play next year or he's recruited 3 guys in one class that won't contribute for 2 or 3 years. How does Roy William's let it happen at UNC? They are in worse shape than us, at the moment. Not every season is going to go perfectly. Not every recruit is going to hit. No coach is going to bat 1.000 and none of then are infallible. 33 year is a long time to go without facing a season where all the cards fall against you, even if some of it was self-inflicted. Seasons like that make even the best coaches look bad. It's happened to Calipari, it happened to Coach K, it is happening to Roy William's, right now, and unfortunately, it is happening to Barnes and our Vols. They will get it together with better health, better talent, and better luck. Barnes owns some of the misfortune. No one should be saying he is blameless.

Really irks me that in year 5 we probably won't see post season.(NCAA)
Expected an off season with Barnes to be an early exit at this stage.
Nothing that can contribute on the bench is all on Barnes. Gambled on Uros. Gambled on Blackshear then didn't look at anyone else. Filled his class with projects except for James.
Personally i think he's losing it. You know they aren't playing like they practice. Who's that on?
Why is Bowden chucking 12 bricks? That's 12 not a couple. Why are we turning it over so much? Why aren't they sharing the ball? is Barnes still coaching or is he asleep at the wheel?

Barnes says they aren't playing like they practice after every game. Ever listen to Pressers? You can't make Bowden hit shots, but you should be able to control what kind of shots he's taking. 12 3s and making 1 is out of control. You need to step back off the ledge a bit.
Uros wasn't a gamble, practically everyone thought he was going to be cleared. Blackshear falls on Barnes (though it seems that was a last second change of heart that he went to UF).
How do you know the "aren't playing like they practice"?
Barnes can't magically make Bowden hit shots.
