Southeastern Conference Prediction Thread

A lot of high scoring games today! Usually once SEC play starts you see a lot of scoring drop and games are more in the 70s. Almost every winning team with 80+ and Vandy hung 108 on an awful UGA team.

Coach Abe supposed to be a defensive coach, flat embarrassing.

Tonight showed me one thing only. Anything can happen on an off night but in the SEC right now I’m taking South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Oklahoma, and LSU in that order.
Kentucky, Alabama, and Vanderbilt are not in that top tier.

I don't recall anyone saying they are in the top tier. What I recall is people saying they are much improved programs and far away from the bottom tier they've previously occupied. Solid second tier teams on the rise.

I think we can safely remove Auburn and Miss St from the on the rise group. Looks like they are going to stay at the top of the bottom tier.

I agree with this statement. I think Kentucky, Bama and Vandy are teams that can beat any of the top teams on an off night but they just aren’t there on a consistent basis imo.

OU is a big game for us. I do look at that as a must win for a top 3 finish in the SEC this season.

It’ll take a really off night for Tennessee to lose to either of the three and that includes the road games to Kentucky and Vandy.
I believe Tennessee makes a statement against Oklahoma, not quite a must win but I think they view it that way because they expect to win them all.
I do think it’s time to settle on an official starting lineup.
A new starting lineup every game is not only odd but works against the team at this point when certain players have created separation based on in-game performances.
Now if those players are completely not showing up in practices that’s another issue that needs to be handled ASAP.

It is a home game and I agree it is necessary to win these homes games no matter the opponent to get in the top three. Cause Texas and Sc are seldom or never going to lose at home and so you must hold serve. Oklahoma hurt their chances big time last night by losing at home to Texas. They will be looking to make that up with a win at Tennessee. I can only hope they commit like 20 unforced turnovers like they did last night against Texas.

Vandy only plays us once this season and it is at their place. Hopefully we will control the crowd and come out of their with a win. I'm only worried about one game now Oklahoma Sunday afternoon. A win there keeps the momentum going.

Agree beating OK is an opportunity to get a huge win. By far the best team we've played so far.

OTOH, we're playing on house money this year with a mega recruiting class in our pocket. So I don't think a loss would be devastating. Lots more chances to get the signature win.

I think the LVs have a really good chance to get the win at home.

Yes I agree, but beating them makes me keep thinking top three in the SEC. Still hoping for 12 and 4 or even better. To get there have to win these type games. The worry they present to me is they are big and bulky inside have more than one of them A fairly quick point guard and one great three point shooter. We are quicker and will be tough to guard by their team. We'll have a lot of trouble stopping their inside game. Again turnovers, fouls, and rebounding is how we win. They get 30 trips to the line we probably lose. I hope the crowd is 14000 or more.

Tennessee will have more fans on the road than Vandy.
I would say the focus is on Oklahoma.
Tennessee is really good. The LVs will be hard to beat.
GBO!
