If it is OK with you, TT, I will simply provide the Catechism's reference to the Body and Blood, and let you come to your own conclusion, as to the Catholic Church's stance. It is much too long to post here, without boring everyone half to death, or creating a heated discussion with a passerby who has neither the energy nor the inclination to do the research themselves. Beginning at section1333 and ending with 1344, you will find the basis for the Catholic belief that it truly is the Body and Blood of Christ. I am currently drawing a blank for the word that the Church uses to describe the transfiguration in a scientific context...It will surely come to my though.

I should still have the Catechism on my bookshelf...I'll pull it down and read it. Thanks.

I'll probably need to read through it again...but unfortunately, I don't think that it is that much clearer to me!
I really think it comes to a point where the Catholic Church basically turns to the congregation and says, "We are not going to offer concrete proof. We have made a connection in the Scripture, this connection is corroborated along the whole tradition of the Church, dating back to Peter. However, we leave it to you to research, reflect, and use your faith to make that decision."

Fortunately, the Catholic Church states there are really no "requirements" of non-Catholics to enter into Heaven other than living a good, charitable, decent life.
