Come on man, they gotta make sure the colors match and don't offend anyone.

I mean, I get it. The Apollo era suits were not easy to use or move around in. They were really over-engineered for the purpose they served, but they did work.

I understand with the "sustainable" presence we want to establish the suits will have to change and be more "user friendly." But I'm just thinking a billion in development is a tad much.

But then again, NASA had spent $20 billion to "develop" rocket technology that's been around since the 70s and will cost $2 billion every time they light the engines.

It's insane the way our government issues development contracts.

I did not know that.

If you ever have the time, watch the HBO Miniseries "From the Earth to the Moon." Produced by Tom Hanks (serious space nerd) and goes in seriously in depth on the background of the Apollo program.

I'll do that, thanks.

Our drive to the moon culminating with the landing must have been an exciting time to be alive. Hope I'm still kicking when we get to Mars.

Also, you can see the SpaceX employees' passion and enthusiasm for what they are doing. Very reminiscent of the drive that the Apollo program had.
