Hmm, interesting subject they touched on there, sunlight/starlight/light causing orbits to change, never thought about that. I guess those photons add up overtime.
 
and it seems whatever vehicle they use to take the samples would also help drive the asteroid away......if that's what they really want. (sorry been reading a lot of the political forum, a lot of tin foil stuff floating around out there)
 
The orbital pattern of the asteroid will bring it closer and closer over those 166 years, to the point that it actually poses that 1/1800 chance or whatever of striking the earth.

I honestly would not be shocked by this.

Only 44 years separated the milestones of the first plane flight and the sound barrier being broken. Its silly for anyone to suggest that "warp" or lightspeed technology couldn't possibly be achieved even in our lifetime.
