What a load of hooey. We won't be anywhere near the moon in 5 years. This is nothing but bunch of politicians talking. And of course, they have to throw in there that 'a woman' will be going to the moon as well... good grief. Get a twofer. Make it a half black half latina woman.

Queen for a week.

Why not a transgender?

I watched the "Everyday Astronaut" video after I got back from town last night.

A couple of hours before that, SpaceX had another successful Dragon liftoff to resupply the ISS. With successful landing of the Falcon rocket back at the Cape!

Start Video here to see some of the experiments etc.. that's going up! Including a project from Goodyear Tires a BioPrinter and even Nickelodeon slime!

This video starts at T-00:00:20

A couple asteroids have been missed by NASA et all that have either hit the earth or passed dangerously close in the recent weeks. Not really news worthy as they have been too small to make it thru the atmosphere. But some people not liking it.

That one a month or so ago was miles across in diameter...and nobody saw it until it had already passed right by us...if it had hit earth, depending on where of course...that could have been nearly apocalyptic. They need to keep those eyes peeled and quit worrying about some black hole 10,000 light years outside our galaxy. Defense should be priority 1

I agree that defending earth from a catastrophic asteroid or comet strike should be NASA's and the DOD's top priority. Actually it should be all nations top priority. It is a matter of when, not if one is going to hit.

A large asteroid just 'snuck up on us.' Why wasn't it detected sooner?

A new study claims aliens may just be taking their time and being strategic in showing themselves to us >>>

Alien civilizations may have explored the Milky Way and visited Earth already, new study claims

What does our own government know about aliens and stuff >>>>>>

Americans skeptical of UFOs, say government knows more, poll reveals

I enjoy trying to keep up with science and read a science fiction book now and then. My own personal belief is that if faster than light travel is possible we have almost certainly been visited. If it is not possible we almost certainly have not. I however do not believe anything that has mass can or ever will move faster than light (I concede that I could be wrong but I doubt it). There may be some massless sub atomic particles that move faster but for now we cannot detect them. If they exist we may be able to establish faster than light communications but not physical travel.

Annually for the last 30 years I have attended a little known convention held in Chattanooga called LibertyCon. It is billed as a literary science fiction and science convention. Attendance is limited to 600 and it sells out quickly. 2020 sold out in 29 minutes and 19 seconds. ( LibertyCon ) Several NASA scientists usually attend and conduct various panels and discussions during the event. From what I have gathered over the years is that these people on the cutting edge of space science seem to believe advanced civilizations are extremely rare in our galaxy even given the incredible number of stars and planets that likely exist. There are many reasons for this including one that is very interesting: Natural selection may not choose higher intelligence as an advantageous characteristic for survival. For almost the entire history of life on earth (3.8B years) nothing more intelligent than a large prehuman primate ever existed.

I also do not believe that our or any other government has any information that aliens have visited earth. The reason is that if they have the scientists would probably know it before the politicians or possibly even the military. Plus our government just could not keep a lid on the biggest event to happen inn the history of mankind. At least not for long.

Travel at greater than the speed of light is the key. We are not intellectually capable of determining if it is possible or not. If we've been visited it's because another life form is superior to us.

Cool composite image of Mars from 102 images from Viking. They edited out the atmosphere so the terrain features would be seen clearly.

I love these photos of other worlds and places. But the ones of earth from the ISS is worth the cost of that station alone imo. It's hard to be diversionary when seeing our small little marble displayed out.
