i actually do believe it, or at least it was someone else and he is retelling. There are former Vols all over the place here and they are always talking to whomever about UT football. Some play basketball together and talk about the Vols with everyone between games and in the attached gym. I've had multiple conversations in the last couple of years on the court and at the ball fields with former vols that are young fathers. Coached a couple of former vol's kids in football and basketball.
No big deal if you ask me.

Its not the context, but the source

Its like if the same story came out in Newsweek and The National Enquirer

Awesome stuff bud :good!: Did you happen to get anymore info on number 2? I'd love to know how all that when down from a player's view, as I've never heard a player who played for Fulmer not say they didn't love the man.

I met a former linebacker who said Fulmer turned into a Politician towards the end. That Cut was the coach that had the players respect.

I've been saying that ever since Butch got here things will be alot different when he gets the style players he wants to run his offense. The previous two coaches left one hell of a mess for Butch to have to come in and clean up. I believe what the x players said when they said we had no idea how bag things really was under Dooley. And I loved coach Fulmer but you have to admit things did get really stall the last couple of yrs. You could see that in the recruting he just didn't get the top players he use to get and that was his downfall

I'm always skeptical when a poster is relaying a conversation from an unnamed former player. Having said that, I did used to see Jarvis Reado and Ron Green at the CourtSouth off of Gallaher View RD in west Knoxville when I was a member there from 1999-2002. I never spoke to either of them but Reado helped a friend of mine out with a jump one night after he had left his lights on. Reado was a big mean looking dude. Green wasn't as big as what you would expect from a DT.

Kiffin's staff were full of great recruiters and high energy guys.

But when it came to playcalling and in game decison making, Kiffin couldn't coach his way out of a paper bag.

Ironically he took us to a bowl game, beat UGA and SC, and almost beat Alabama. What we'd all do for that back?

I disagree on the last point. I thought his play calling and game mgmt kept us in the Florida and Alabama games. Just thought that outside of his crooked recruiting schemes, he had no idea how to or no intention of building the UT program.
Ummm did you see his play calling at USC? It was a national joke how crappy it was

I would find it hard to disagree with any of this. Of course it is the opinion of some mortal human beings who have their own biases and perspectives, but I can find it believable. Fulmer needed firing, but I don't know how you fire him any different than how they did it. Kiffin was like the inmate running the prison by letting the players get away with anything they wanted and of course they loved it. Most of his recruits left the program leaving us where we are now without a solid senior class. Of course we all know about Dooley.

There is not much we as fans can do about this now except support and be patient with coach Jones and not act like a bunch of juveniles booing and bashing players at the games and in the social media.
