I think he had shots of whiskey before the press conference.

Just made it through the entire video. What a sore loser.

What? Nothing about his wasted T.O.s...? Shocked, l tell you, shocked. /s/

He did talk about it. It was one of the first questions...

He said they were trying to get the right play called, and then when they came back out, TN changed their D a bit.

Lol, Spurrier just doesn't even give a damn anymore.

Dudes heart is still in Gainesville. USC just happens to write his checks. He's gonna leave USC high and dry really soon.

How do you know he didn't have a stout shot in his Sprite he was sipping on in the video? :p

:lolabove:

Old Ball Sack deserves a drink to ease the pain from the beating he is taking from SC "fans" tonight!

I saw one quote that said, "SC's kicking game sucks more balls than Miley Cyrus." :eek:lol:

Agreed...his attitude is pathetic.

Yeah, he's their best coach ever. By high and dry, I mean he will probably up and retire at a bad time and with no regard for their recruiting class or future as a program.

He has no love for USC. He's still a Gator at heart.

replay it and try listening this time. i know your ADD makes it tough to power through this lengthy press conference, put you can pause and resume at your leisure. Im sure youll be able to get through it before you feel the need to post another original and ingenious comment on the press conference.

The irony of it all is this:

1) The Ole Ball Coach quips about coaching more in Neyland than most of UT's coaches in the past few years.

Wonder if he finds any humor in the fact that he's been beaten twice by 1st yr HC's in that time...OUCH!

2) He has to hope UT is down, in order to beat us...and even when we are, he still manages to lose a few.

3) He thought they'd come in here and put a whooping on us, like they did Arkansas. He thought wrong...and the really bad part about that, is the Cocks are going limp while UT is rising. :)

Nobody can take away Spurrier's greatness as a college hfc after elevating 3 programs to heights they'd never seen before. I think what you see there is a guy who knows he came in with a team that should have won but his opponent didn't roll over, kept it close and managed to execute a very difficult play to set up a winning fg. He had the better team on paper by far and when you lose with that kind of advantage it has to be laid at the coaches' feet.

I disagree. We may have been down, but even so, we have managed to out-recruit Spurrier for the better part of the past 5yrs, alone. TN simply has more talent across the board than USC does. We should have beaten them the past 2 times as well.

They are a perennial lower tier SEC program boosted by Spurrier's presence, but even he can't get them to an SECC level. They are about to drift back into SEC irrelevance, and we're trending back up. People forget that it's still a tough place to recruit to, regardless of Spurrier

I'm sorry... I like the "ol' Ball Coach" ! He wears it all on his sleeve. He sounds like a man who has seen a whole lotta football and answering questions about any previous game are well behind his thought process. Steve Spurrier is an amazing HFC. I wish he had come to TN way back when... What would P. Manning look like now if he had Spurrier instead of Fulmer ??? Now that said, I hope this loss puts his mind at ease with retirement !!!
I think he is a heck of a coach and I am extremely happy that the Vols beat him one more time before he retires!!!:clapping:

A depressed and haggered looking Spurrier after a loss to TN is...

A BEAUTIFUL THING AND JOY FOREVER!!! HAHAHAHAHA!!:rock::rock::rock::rock:

,

That is as humble, and down as I have ever seen Spurrier. The only time he showed any life was when they told him that Florida and Georgia had both lost today. Then he perked up and said then all we need to do is beat Missouri.

I respect and admire coach Spurrier as much as any other living coach. He has always been an original and he was always ready to take on a new challenge and is fiercely competitive. Every one of his press conferences is unique he doesn't talk the typical coach speak. He tells it like it is and he is willing to talk a little smack that I find hugely entertaining.
A lot of people think he hates Tennessee but I believe it is the opposite, I think Tennessee is his first love but things never worked out so he could play or coach here, why do you think he knows exactly how many games he has coached in Neyland Stadium ? Ill bet he doesn't remember how many games he coached in the swamp or at SC so far but he has kept count of how many times he has been on the Hill. He is a native son that wishes he could have been a VOL but life didn't work out that way.

I remember all his jabs at us and a CPF because they drove me crazy but I also remember him saying "Tennessee isn't afraid to play anybody" when a reporter tried to talk us down once.

He is a walking, talking football legend that deserves to be remembered with the likes of The General and The Bear. He is one of a kind and one of the greatest football coaches in history.

Enjoy him while he is still around because college football will be less when he is gone.

My favorite quote out of that is "apperently our guys can't play by the rules" lol. Him talking about all the penalties they racked up.

Also the crowd noise during his presser is awesome. I am so glad I got to be a part of that.

My wife and I are going to titans game today and before the game yesterday she was way more excited to see that one. By half time yesterday she leaned over and said your right this is way better. Great atmosphere and great game. Im still pumped over it! GBO

Spurrier will be missed. 15 years or so down the road he will be in town an for a QB club speech, and he will get a five minute standing ovation when announced in Neyland. We have all had so much fun loving and hating him over the years but I think it's understood that it's just good clean fun on both sides. College football needs this, and few can bring it like Spurrier.

In 15 years or so Spurrier will/would be 82/83 and probably won't be giving any "coherent" speeches to QB clubs anywhere, "if he is even still alive."
