You know if he became coach and we started winning everyone of us would forgive any anymosity towards Spurrier, some would even say, I always knew we could win with him! "The Ole Ball Coach, shucks.....all's forgiven"

But then again if he were to start coaching here and he didn't do good everyone of us would be saying "I told ya not to hire him"

He'll never be hired at Tennessee, so why even go down that road?

I want Fulmer for as long as possible.

Maybe I have been brain-washed by my Fulmer-supporting parents, but there is no one else I trust to run this football program right now.

The victories over Georgia and Alabama were so thrilling that this thread should not even exist. Any year a coach beats Alabama, his job is secure. No questions asked.

Aswell as he did in the NFL?

you never know...he could come here and be horrible and probably just be horrible so he could just laugh at us

The NFL is a lot different than college. Also, it's not like Joe Gibbs and his staff (some of the greatest NFL coaches of all time) are doing any better with the Skins this year.

Spurrier is insanely competitive. If he wins, he isn't satisfied, because he should have won by more. He is regarded as one of the best college football coaches of the modern era. He won at Duke, Florida, and he's doing well at South Carolina. I don't really like him that much, but to say that he wouldn't be successful at a school like UT is ridiculous.

you're right, he might suck! Look at Colorado and there magical Coach. The NFL is a different game, ask Callahan and Nebraska, at least Spurrier was hired by an NFL team, how many job offerings has Fulmer had? How many other Colleges have tried to swoon him away even?

that's the problem he gets one win that everyone says "see, hes still got it!" and then proceeds to have yet another mediocre season.

Can I get more opinions on this topic....I`d like to pass them on to the ol ball coach for a life....OH and if anyone was watching SC put it on UF last night I`d like to hear more about how the gamecocks may never compete with the SEC elite....

I say UT pays the man whatever he wants. And get him to coach. the man has got S.C. over .500 with NO talent aside from Rice. The man will win, we just need him to win for us. They could get Fulmer to "retire" and it's time for change at the D Coord, and Cutcliffe can get a job anywhere. We need Spurrier!! That's my Christmas and New Year's wish.
Even though he could win here,I don't see it ever happening.
