He will leave SC when he gets the chance. SC will take his coaching record down the tubes.

Do people on this board not know Spurrier's history? Spurrier has had contempt for Tennessee since he was a mear boy. He shunned the Vols out of High School to be a Gator as a player. He would never coach at U.T.

He shunned Tennessee because we ran the single wing and he was a passing QB.

I have lived long enough to never say never again.

Let BAMA hire Spurrier when they fire Shula.....then I can direct all my hate in one direction

No doubt Spurrier is a great coach, but if he were our coach it would be kinda like UT crossing over to the "Dark Side". May the
force be with us!

I would love to have Spurrier as a coach. Tis' much more important to me to win than to HATE a coach that we couldn't beat.

I guess I'm just selfish.

It's one thing to say, "NO WAY!! That guy SUCKS!!!"......and another to say, "NO WAY!!! HE ALWAYS beats us!!"

The Dark Side???? I've never known Steve Spurrier.....once.....not even, once.......do anything to jeopardize ANY program he has ever coached.....I've never heard of any stories where he doesn't represent his team well.....I've never heard of him NOT suspending players or kicking them off the team no matter how good or popular they were. He's one coach who doesn't give a damn if you're a Heisman candidate. He's going to punish you like he should. He gives teams respect when they beat him.

We never hated Jim Donnan, did we?? Wonder why.

Coach Spurrier is a class act.

If his players get in trouble, he'll play any team in the country with "what he has."

I don't get the hate???

First, for Steve to come to Tenn would be a total insult to Florida people who have been very loyal to Spurrier; he would not do that to them. Second, and probably just as important, Steve made it quite plain that he intended on coaching only 5 more years when he signed the contract with USC. Not long ago word from some USC alum stated Steve would not be at Carolina beyond his current contract and plans were under way to find a replacement by the end of his current contract.

Now Jason.
Hate is such a strong word. I never said I hated Spurrier. I have total respect for him as a coach. And you are right, he has always represented his schools well and handled his players well. The jabs at UT and Fulmer. well he just can't help himself I guess. He is very competitive as he should be. He just in NOT FOR TENNESSEE! He has always been aginst us and always will be. He would rather beat us than anyone. Could he have success if he were UT's coach? Probably so, he has proven this to be true. But, he would never coach at UT because he is toatally AGAINST Tennessee. And so, when UT plays his team I WILL BE AGAINST HIM! That's the way it is and that's the way it should stay forever and ever AMEN!

I say UT pays the man whatever he wants. And get him to coach. the man has got S.C. over .500 with NO talent aside from Rice. The man will win, we just need him to win for us. They could get Fulmer to "retire" and it's time for change at the D Coord, and Cutcliffe can get a job anywhere. We need Spurrier!! That's my Christmas and New Year's wish.

I have a recommendation for you " KILL YOURSELF "

Spurrier contract.....7 years.....has indicated he would like to coach another 10 years. Too bad UT. The punishment rocks on. South Carolina and Spurrier rocks on and rocks the SEC.

Spurrier has SC playing at a higher level, but given the results, at this point Steve Spurrier is Sparky Woods with better sound bites.

Yeah, that 5-5 record is really "rocking." It's rocking about as much as a Michael Bolton/Yanni/John Tesh triple bill.
